Dji v2 to v1
#1
Hey I was looking at a pretty good deal on one of the new dji fpv drone combo I already own a set of v1 googles so my question is since audience mode apparently will not work for these they way I need (me on the v2s spectator on the v1s) I was wondering since v2 does have HDMI out and v1 only has HDMI in would that work ?

The V1 goggles do work in audience mode for the V2 Goggles, and vice versa. This has already been confirmed by people on RCG. You need to make sure that both goggles are in the same region mode, and it only works with both pairs of goggles in the 25Mbps mode. Audience mode doesn't work in the 50Mbps mode.

One other thing to be aware of is that the V2 goggles lose all bindings with the DJI FPV Drone and Air Units every time you switch between FPV Drone Mode, and standalone FPV mode for use with DJI Air Units and Caddx Vistas. So every time you switch modes you have to rebind all of your quads manually again.

HDMI out only works on the V2 goggles when using them with the DJI FPV Drone and not for the standalone FPV system, and that feature only works with the DJI Fly App on a mobile phone. There is HDMI in capabilities on either the V1 or the V2 goggles. It's a completely closed ecosystem and DJI don't want people to have those features.

I personally see nothing good about the DJI FPV Drone for people who can already fly an proper FPV quad, and don't forget that a single battery which only gives 5-8 minutes of flight time in manual mode costs $160 each.

Just to clear something up, v2 goggles do not have HDMI out, and v1 does not have HDMI in. Both goggles output raw h.264 video feeds from Air Unit/Vista via USB bulk transfer, and v2 goggles also output some kind of video feed from the DJI FPV Drone via a different USB interface (yet to be fully investigated).
