DJI FPV Goggles V2 where?
#1
Hey,
I bought a Protek 35 with DJI Air unit installed in it, but I can't find anywhere where I could buy the Goggles. They have been out of stock for so long, does anyone know where I could get either the V1's or V2? (Preferably the v2's)
Also do the V2's work with Protek35 from iflight?

Thank you in advance!

From several posts on the forum, it seems that all DJI goggles have been redirected to the DJI combo drone.
There is a chip shortage as you may know and that does not helps too, but as it seems DJI is not making any goggles/drone combo ratio to keep the FPV community flying their home made drones but instead just let FPV DIY hanging...

None of the main retailers have the V2 goggles in stock that I know of. DJI seem to be keeping hold of all the V2 goggles to put into their DJI FPV Drone combo kit which is where they make most of their money. Because of that they appear to have suspended selling the V2 goggles as a separate item for the time being. The global silicon chip shortage probably isn't helping the situation either.

Whatever you do, don't be tempted to place an order with B**g***d. People have already been waiting more than 2 months for orders they placed back in February, so if you join the BG order queue you likely won't get them for another 6 months.

If you are desperate, another option is the FPV Market Place on Facebook. I've seen quite a few people selling pre-owned DJI FPV Goggles (both V1 and V2). Don't expect to get a cheap deal though. Because of the current goggle shortage situation they are being sold for premium prices.

And yes, the V2 goggles will work with your Protek35. Just be aware of the current activation mess at the moment which has left a lot of people unable to activate their V2 goggles thus rendering them useless unless they know someone who had a DJI FPV Drone that can be used to activate them. This activation problem has been going on for more than a month now and DJI still haven't come up with a solution.

Keep an eye on Amazon fro time to time. I got my v2 last Tuesday for an order that I placed the previous Saturday. They seem to come in and out very quickly.

Hey skaidy96 not sure where you are but here in Canada many of our retailers have replenished their stock of V2's in the last few weeks (airbladeuav, greathobbies, rotorgeeks, rotorquest, rotorev...) heck there are even a few DJI Air and Caddx Vista+Nebula Pros available (thought the DJI Air units were gone for good...).  I think AirbladeUAV (and maybe another) ships straight from a US location too, if you're south of the border...

Now if only we could get vaccines that easily ROFL

Good luck!

The standalone goggles seems to be out of stock with sellers here in Australia. The DJI FPV Done Combo seems to be in stock at many places.

One local shop has the estimated arrival of 3rd June 2021: https://www.phaserfpv.com.au/products/dj...goggles-v2

If you have the spare cash, you could buy the DJI FPV Drone for the V2 goggles and then sell drone to someone who wants it for spare parts, or who has crashed and totalled theirs. The controller might be more difficult to sell on, but I have seen them being sold and bought by people.

There are no vendors in the UK with stock of any DJI FPV Goggles, DJI Air Units or Caddx Vistas in stock, and I have a feeling it might be like that for some time to come. Some of the manufacturers who supply hardware for our hobby have already stated that prices will be going up by 30% for a lot of the items they manufacture and sell due to the global silicon chip shortage / supply & demand, and I expect the other manufacturers to follow suit, so expect things in this hobby to start getting a lot more expensive for the next 12 months or so.

Several people are desperately buying the combo and re-selling the kit without goggles.

Here is one such example: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/darwin-c...pasteboard

Doesn't the DJI FPV drone have an acro-mode where you would fly in Mode-2 so it would be like our normal FPV? Just wondering why FPVer's are selling the DJI FPV drone? Like would those doing Long Range perhaps be happy with DJI FPV drone, but perhaps it those doing racing that might want there low lantency quads, but with digital?

I'm interested in getting DJI googles and integrating to say a Rekon5 with Crossfire, but sounds like I should hold off until the DJI googles situation becomes clearer...(?)

People are selling the DJI FPV drone because they just needed it to activate their V2 goggles.

The DJI goggles situation is fairly clear. DJI is not providing a fix for goggles shipped with the firmware compatible with the DJI FPV drone.

If you were going to buy DJI goggles today, then its best you buy it from a local shop for a quick return in case you are unable to activate it or if they have the drone in stock then they can activate it for you before they give/send it to you.

People are selling the DJI drone, and by people we say, fpv pilots, because the drone doesn't add anything valuable for a already freestyle/racing pilot that already have good, proper and more durable, drones.

I would recommend you get into the facebook groups of your FPV stores.

PhaserFPV is one of my Go-To shops here in Aus and I am in their FB groups, they make a post every time they get new stock of DJI goggles so we know they have them.

They seem to get stock every month or two, but it's normally only 3-5 units which are gone in an instant.

I just ordered a set of goggles from Race Day Quads. Shows as in stock. Be careful ordering this DJI FPV stuff. There has been a lot of returns. I just received a second FPV kit, I ordered from Amazon, as a spare. Came sealed in Amazon box, but inside, the DJI box had been resealed with scotch tape. Everything appeared to be untouched, but the goggles have a problem, stuck on the select language screen, and buttons do nothing. Have a return started with DJI, but I think they will try to charge me for repair. They said I can not request replacement for just the Goggles, only repair and mention of $60 per hour labor. Wunder how many bags of rice that is? Would have to try to return the whole kit to Amazon, and wait for probably another returned item ????
