DJI air unit iflight nazgul
#1
Hey all,
I am going from analoge to digital. I recently received the dji fpv goggles V2 with 2 dji air units. My “plan” was to just rip out the analoge system out of my iflight Nazgûl, and replace it with the dji air unit. Apparently the unit itself is to large to fit in this quad!? I might try to 3D print a holder for the unit.
Anyways, if this is not successful I am thinking of buying the new iflight evoque. But since I already own 2 dji air units, I am planning to buy the cheaper analoge version and do the same as above. But… will this work? I mean, is the analoge version powerful enough for a digital system? (Heard that the analoge version has an lower power ESC?
Also, will the actual dji unit fit the evoque?
Just to be clear, the air units I have are the larger original dji ones, not Cadixx.
Thanks.

If you can't get it to fit that frame you could use another frame and just move the components over.

In this build they use a 3d print to mount an Air Unit above the stack:

Can anyone confirm that the evoque can hold (spacious enough) the dji air unit?

No 100% guarantee but the Nazgul Evoque looks to have the same spacing between the centre stand-offs as the standard Nazgul, and if the standard Nazgul can take an Air Unit between its centre stand-offs then so will the Evoque be able to. I don't see how an Air Unit would fit between the back stand-offs though because the smaller Caddx Vista only just fits in that space, so you would need to mount a full size Air Unit in the middle with an appropriate 3D mount and then relocate the flight stack to the rear. You would also need to remove the plastic side protection plates because the Air Unit would be too wide to fit with the side plates still present.

The dimensions of the full size Air Unit is 44mm x 37.8mm x 14.4mm while by comparison the dimensions of the Caddx Vista is 30.45mm x 29mm x 13mm.

My buddy has been running a Banggod for a while now with an air unit. Don't think he's crashed it on pavement yet but every tumble in the trees and earth he's never damaged the frame. Now props, vtx antennas and batteries are another story.
