I can adjust the endpoints just fine. But when I try to adjust the mid points, changing the values in Taranis output section has no effect. An example of the problem. My Roll setting at mid stick is 1493. I go to the output section and go from 1500 down to 1480 and nothing changes in BF. Then I go up to 1520, and again nothing changes in BF, it stays at 1493. Ideas on the cause?
Can't adjust midpoint settings in receiver section of betaflight |
29-May-2018, 02:34 PM I can't help with the cause, but can offer a work around. Set an offset on the mixer page. 29-May-2018, 03:52 PM Have you tried recalibrating the gimbals in the radio setup? That should bring things back to center. 29-May-2018, 04:09 PM (29-May-2018, 03:52 PM)txbdan Wrote: Have you tried recalibrating the gimbals in the radio setup? I could do it again, but still wonder what's the problem that prevents the system from working on midpoints. 29-May-2018, 04:46 PM make sure your trim buttons are all centered repeat stick calibration might help. 29-May-2018, 07:50 PM You actually don't change the 1500 number. You want to change the first number. It should say subtrim. Change that number should change your midpoint. (29-May-2018, 07:50 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: You actually don't change the 1500 number. My midpoints were off...Roll was the most. And changing end points had no effect on the midpoint. But in the end the midpoint problem for roll was due to the roll trim tab not being centered. Still, I don't know why I can't change my midpoint values like the guy on BFP. In the Taranis, there is 4 numbers in the output menu. From left to right. Subtrim, min, max and the triangle 1500 To change midpoint, it is the very first value to the left. Sounds like you are changing the triangle 1500 value. Edit: I learn that the triangle 1500 is a center adjustment. It moves endpoints and midpoint. Anyway, here is a good reference. https://opentx.gitbooks.io/opentx-tarani...tputs.html 30-May-2018, 06:52 PM (29-May-2018, 10:20 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: In the Taranis, there is 4 numbers in the output menu. From left to right. Here is the video I was referencing. You can start watching at about 2 minutes in. You can see him select the 1500 on his Taranis to set the mid point to 1500 on betaflight. His was out of spec low by a few clicks, and he was able to bring it up from 1497ish to 1500. Mine won't do that....and I would like to know why? Is it something to do with the Crossfire receiver, or is there a problem with my Taranis? Or is it operator error. Question: So I'll suppose you are trying to go from 1495 to 1500 (as example), and it won't move. Can you make it go down from 1495 to 1490? I'm with voodoo on this. I think you need to adjust the subtrims "first" on that channel. From reading the link he posted, it could be that it won't move up, because it can't also move the max point, and the triangle setting wants to move everything. Note that BFP did the center adjustment 1st. It worked for him without messing with subtrims probably because of using a standard frsky rx. Won't hurt anything to try. 31-May-2018, 12:58 AM (30-May-2018, 08:46 PM)sloscotty Wrote: Question: So I'll suppose you are trying to go from 1495 to 1500 (as example), and it won't move. But my question was, why can't I change my midpoint setting as it is done in the video. I too am guessing it has to do with the Crossfire receiver, it is the only difference. Since I don't have any receivers other than Crossfire, we may never know. It will suck if I ever need to make that adjustment though. Although it worked for him the better way is to adjust the subtrim. Subtrim moves midpoint without moving the whole scale. Glad you got it figured out. |
