Beta75X XM+ Firmware flash
#1
Hey guys,

i got my Beta75X and wanted to flash the XM+ receiver firmware to FCC.

I know there is a way with Betaflight serialpassthrough, but when i enter the "serialpassthrough 1 57600" into the cli, i get the message "Port 1 already open, setting baud = 57600."

Is there a way to flash it with serialpassthrough? I dont want to solder it.

Hope some1 can help me.

Greetings

Hi Crowd
Sorry for the late reply. I had been meaning to do this to my XM+ and your post gave me the incentive to try it.
Unfortunately I could not get it to work either.
The message you got "Port 1 already open, setting baud = 57600." is OK and confirms that the port is open and baud rate is set. It is what you do next that is important. I followed a few different methods and found this one to be the "clearest" and least confusing.
https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...ss-Through

Mine just sat there looking for the device. The method really wants to use "Smart Port " which the XM+ does not have.
I messed with this for a couple of hours and ultimately de-soldered the XM+ and flashed it off of my QX7. Took about 15 minutes.

If you do get it to work let us know.

Have you untoggled the serial rx then try the passthrough command?

Thanks voodoo

I did not. I read several different tuts on this and none of them mentioned that. Maybe I will try it again with it turned off.

I did some reading and these are some stuff I read.

People recommend having the MSP to be the same speed as the passthrough. Which is 57600.

They also recommend that the receiver not be on when you enter the CLI command. Disconnect from BFC. Then turn on receiver before you open the flasher program. This really defeats the purpose of passthrough. That means you need a FC that does not power the receiver with USB.

Some people have succeeded. But others seem to encounter the same problem. I do have an XM+ in one of my quad (can't remember which on), if I get some time, I will try passthrough. Don't hold your breath though.
