Armattan Quads 4" Micro Long Range " Bobcat"
#1
Armattan is a bit late to the party but a 4" MLR is coming out soon with official release this week I believe.

Some teaser pics.

It might look a bit like the Diatone Roma 4 with the camera cage.

I've been following the teasers over at RCG.  I wish they did away with the warranty on this one so they could have made it lighter.  At 57 grams, its got 10g on the Diatone Roma and over 20g on the Airblade Transformer Mini which i think at 33g is the lightest so far.   Flywoo's at 41g and the Katana at 37g.

With that said it checks off my boxes namely proper camera cage and custom cut lipo pad so I'll get it LOL.   ROFL

[edit] Gahhhh no standoffs. I should have known that is an Armattan trademark design. But it makes for an epic pain in the ass designing antenna mounts.

that huge cam mount xD

57g is a joke, lightweight longrange cant be done with armattans usual frame strategy. it doesnt need to be durable in terms of crashes for longrange.

seems more like a spacy 4inch freestyle frame to me

But ... custom cut lipo pads!!   Cry ROFL

You brought up a good point though hug ... this could be a could, quiet and discrete 4 inch freestyler.  I may go that route with this one.  That also fixes the antenna mount issue since I won't need ginormous antennas for that.

It is a sexy frame. I'm not a big fan of the H style frames though. I feel like the arms could possibly break easier. JMO

I do like the carbon fiber in the camera cage though. Definitely different and looks cool with the color contrast.

The weight is similar to the IFlight Chimera 4"  true X frame with 4mm bottom plate. It's the porkiest of the while lot I think.
I fly the Chimera 4" as a park cruising light freestyle quad which is pretty fun.

I wonder how robust Bobcat will be with those skinny 3mm arms.  Big Grin
Arm swap looks easy enough.

@ronin,
Looking forward to your build thread and flight. Smile

Hi Jasper,

It is a good looking frame.  Cool  ...and a nice camera mount  Cool

On the other hand, it is a little heavy for my liking.  Undecided

It might make a nice arco or even long range craft,
but it will likely not be under 250 grams AUW with a long range battery attached. Undecided

i didnt broke any h-style micro frame, the length is important, i guess the shorter arms are more rigid. there comes some "additional" weight from the main long body and mounting, they arent ultralight. H-style follow more the route tanky to me.

Huggy is 100% on point.

Also, I'm not a fan of Armattan as they boned me so given there are lots of other frames out there in this size category and do the LR job better, lighter, and sexier, I would go with them.

I was looking at the Cougar and I don’t think it’ll make the sub 250 weight class unless using a small LiPo.
I have the itch to build something but what I don’t know.Something under 250 but not necessarily LR but 1 mile any direction at low altitude would be nice.
Here’s a extremely light 3” frame and with a Caddx Vista the weight before LiPo is under 100 grams.
It’s a unibody and has a weak area but if updated could be a nice frame.

So evidently there was a pricing error lol.

It's $39.99 not $59.99.   ROFL

It sucks they didn't just cut out whoop holes. I'd def use the Tadpole whoop adapter for this. I'd lose 1 or maybe even 2 of those arm screws if the gyro scaled shows it's cool. If I go more freestyle build then I'm thinking those TBS 1505 motors for their pod racer but still with 4 inch biblades.
