Armattan Quads 4" Micro Long Range " Bobcat"
#16
The Gecko 4 inch is supposed to weigh 45 grams and with no props in view I’m curious why the Gecko wasn’t a LR candidate?

If anyone has built Gecko 4” was you able to stay under 250 with battery?

Yea the more I look closely at this frame, the more worried I am about how to approach this. Closer inspection would suggest a whoop FC up front with a 20x20 in back is a no go. I think this frame is either dual 20x20's or single whoop. Hmmmm...

4" Long Range is new.
It works so wondefully because of space for Vista/DJI.

More nice frames will come.
But, the real problem isnt the easy for anyone to draw shape and get cut carbon fiber....

Caddx/DJI need to make a more integrated solution - they need to make a FC/ESC. Half DJI Air is power cir cuitry - redundant.

≠=======≠=======≠=======
I dont like H frames. Gecko frame is ugly.
I like simplicity of unibody plate.
Whoop diamomd was to avoid props, and lets you get slightly smaller wheelbase. Not issue for LR.

Unless you use a FPV camera with narrow angle of view, you will get props in view with most Fpv camera including DJI HD camera.

I built  one with 1507/ Vista. 198g  dry weight.
With a small  650mah 4S, it's already over  by 30g.

With 1404 motors, you could shave 20g plus a few more grams with lighter props.

Their spec says dual 20x20 or 16x16mm stack.

I wonder what those 4 oblong holes at the rear is for.

Yea I was thinking of using a whoop adapter in the front 20x20. I was guessing those oblong holes were some sort of securing holes for a DJI Air Unit but I'm still flying analog so that was just a guess. I'm looking at some AIO 20x20's now since I'd really like to avoid a full 20x20 stack on this already heavy frame. But I can only find F4 ones.

There's the Flywoo Goku HD 745 Evo:

20x20 mounting holes, but the board is
41x32. Still, not bad for a F7 FC with 7 UARTs, blackbox flash, baro, 9V and 5V BECs, and a 40A 32 bit ESC. Only 8.5g too.

Oh nice find! You're right though that size might still be too big for it but might still work. Thanks!
