Is it just me or have other people also noticed in the last few days that when an ad pops up on a YouTube video, you get no skip button and you have to watch a 20-30 second ad all the way through before your chosen video starts playing. And sometimes this 20-30 second ad is followed immediately by another ad of ~60 seconds, also with no skip button. So I have to sit through a minute and a half of ads before I can watch the damn video I want to see.
This has happened on a ton of videos across the whole of this weekend so it's not just an isolated incident. It never used to happen and I can't ever remember previously not being able to skip an ad.
Does anyone know what's going on?
EDIT: I should add that this only affect's videos on YouTube itself and not embedded videos, but if you select to view an embedded video on the YouTube website by clicking on the YouTube logo in the video, you then get these annoying non-skippable ads
