FPV Youtube Tag Video
#1
Hey Everyone,

So lately I've been more and more interested in youtube out of nowhere. I think I want to improve on my channel and make more professional videos (this video is my progress so far... I still have work to do but I am learning). A while ago I decided that I was going to include vloggy content and it sort of developed into those who watch my videos being my virtual flying buddies. As I was researching youtube forums I came across something called a "Tag Video". This is not the tags that you add to your videos in order to make them searchable but instead a video that you make where you answer various questions or do something unusual, but easy to do, and then tell other people to do the same on their channels.

Now I know that many of you are not really vloggy types, but at least a couple of you feature yourselves in your videos (Copterella comes to mind and I think Andie does sometimes too?), and the rest of you it might be a fun way to include more of yourself in your videos.

So the questions that I have about this:

First, if anyone has heard of this youtube trend before, do you know of any other FPV pilots who are doing it? Is there already an FPV tag out there?

If there isn't, and I were to compile a list of questions and do one, would any of you be interested in participating as well? I would love to be able to get something like this started in our little corner of the community. I've even got thoughts on how I'd probably piece my video together including flight footage.

I know it can be a little intimidating speaking to the camera, but hey if I can put my ugly mug on video I am sure you guys can do it too! I think it'd be a lot easier when you have specific content set up for you and examples of how it could be done.

I don't understand this completely. I *did* watch your video, but I'm not sure what you are referring to by "FPV tag". I don't suppose you could do a simpler example.....

In some cases yes, but rather than just being something quick you can do like the ice bucket and cinnamon challenge it's enough content to fill in a video. I think it might be interesting to do because we share so much information with one another on the forum, it might be a good way to get people sharing in their videos as well.

Here is an example of the "throwback tag" which is a rather popular one. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_q...owback+tag

So here is an example of what I am thinking:

Answer questions:
How did you get into FPV?
Do you prefer race or freestyle?
What is your favorite quad? (Show us)
If you could give advice to a new pilot what would it be?
What flying technique do you wish you were better at?
What is the best location you've flown at (show video if you have footage)

Video Content:
Share your most severe crash
Show one of the first tricks you ever learned
Show your current favorite trick
Do something unique to your flying style that other pilots don't seem to do very often
Teach someone who is new to flying how to do something (include sticks if you can)

So with this content you could mix and match as you wanted. You could answer all the questions up front or at the end or you could put the questions in between shots of flight video. If you really want to avoid being on camera you could even just record your voice answering the questions while showing the flight video.

Does that help any?

I'll have to watch a few videos later, but it sounds interesting. Could also be something to work on with older video material if weather does not allow actual flying... Thumbs Up

Definitely! What's great about it is if you cant get out to fly you could always use old footage for the flight video portions.

I'd be happy to start it off by doing it myself if I thought others might participate. I just don't want to start something, call it a "tag video" which is supposed to be kind of community based, and then not have anyone else participating. lol...

If enough people end up being interested then I'll start a new thread in the video section with clear instructions.
