wobbly video during takeoff
#31
An issue which reduces or stops after a short while in a flight is IMO often linked to battery voltage as the "top" comes off the voltage :-

From my experience a PID tune on the edge has been the cause a few times.

Also once I had a FC getting up to a temp and then being OK while not being stable down low.

That’s what they first thought and it made sense but now it’s lasting the whole flight.
I’m using their default PID with bidirectional turned off.
I have noticed the colder it is outside the worse it gets.I tuned on horizon mode mid flight and still there.

It’s a 5”.. I would install bf 4.2.*…fo to the betaflight GitHub page, load the “cinematic” profile (the one Bardwell liked)…see if that helps.. I did it to my 5” and it was night and day

I'm sending it in for testing by brainfpv.I can handle shipping for peace of mind and try a different FC until I get it or another back.

I got it sent back and in the meantime I may try a hobbywing F7.
The vtx bec can be plug and play, has black box chip, and strangely enough it now has Flwoo F7dual betaflight firmware. It has DJI plug and play with 2amp 10 volt which will work with HDZero.
Still radix Li is going to be used with analog for full potential using its OSD.

I was looking at my build and I am eliminating all possible vibration.
The 3pin xt30 are taped directly to arms so I will put some 3M mount tape under them.

Also I ran out of 14 gauge and used 12 gauge for 4n1.

The black wire touches the gummies and could be transferring vibration.
I will make a new battery lead out of 14gaugr and keep everything away from stack.
  Picture of wire touching gummy.

Nice soldering.

Given that it was a temperature dependent issue, I’m willing to bet that it was just a FC quality issue and that your problem will be gone with the hobbywing. Vibration issue wouldn’t stop after 30 seconds.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

Thanks for the compliment.

I’m almost ready to test using a different F7.

I went through the build and used 3M under everything touching frame.
Tape under camera cable and tape over top should keep it safe from friction or bottom of 4n1.
I tossed tpu Vtx mount and just stuck Vtx direct to frame with 2 layers of 3M.
3M under motor connectors and I like using them.
 Makes pulling stack a breeze.

 Here’s a few pictures.
I went overboard on pictures but I think I eliminated any transference of vibration.
Just need to stick 3m under receiver, zip tie radio antenna, and it’s ready for maiden.
Tested everything in betaflight and just a few last minute inspections and it’s time to see what happens.

Fingers crossed for no more wobbles.

Lol,
 It’s been a learning experience.
Five33 just started selling 6” arms for the footy but whether for a 6” all arm version or rear 6” arms and what for I don’t know.
A few wraps of electric tape and it’s done.

HW F7 flies great on default Betaflight PID.
A bit of prop wash but nothing unexpected like shakes and wobbles.
I’ll post a video shortly.
 Night and day difference.

Great to hear that.

This was a weird one.

Probably the FC?

  I think so.
I just can’t explain why it flew terribly but swap out the FC and it flies great now.
Out of 12-13 builds I never had a wobble and shake problem.
I’ll find out after they test it out but this F7 flies great.

Here is a short video of footy with a HW F7.
 No more wobbles.
I don't know why the T-Motors F60 pull so many amps. They eat up batteries super fast.

Not sure exactly what KV F60's you are flying but you can find the motor test data at the T-motor website and compare with your flight data: https://store.tmotor.com/goods.php?id=960

Did you calibrate the current sensor?

HW stacks are usually close but I haven’t calibrated current yet.

I put about 3 packs through it and everything is on default betaflight settings except I tried bidirectional off and on.

  Motors run nice and cool.

 I’m relieved wobbles are gone.
Every quad I’ve built flies about like this one on maiden.
I need to focus camera.
It looks a bit blurry.
The footy flies good but it’s a pain to work on.
Not a lot of tpu mounting accessories available.
