Found over on the Jumper FB page...
Uh-oh! Another Jumper/Radiomaster clone... |
30-Aug-2020, 11:13 AM Found over on the Jumper FB page... 30-Aug-2020, 11:16 AM That's surely got to be someone with Photoshop trying to have a bit of a laugh 30-Aug-2020, 11:19 AM Well, they do have a website (although it looks like it was created yesterday...) https://www.radioking-rc.com/ 30-Aug-2020, 11:28 AM (This post was last modified: 30-Aug-2020, 11:29 AM by SnowLeopardFPV.) That is a blatant rip-off of the RadioMaster logo and also the transmitter naming convention. If they have nothing to do with RadioMaster and it's actually real then I can see some lawsuits taking place. The website looks a little suspect. Nothing in the "About Us" section at all. It would be interesting to make use of the "Contact Us" page and see if anyone gets a response. Good to see that Jumper are maintaining the level of maturity and professionalism that is traditional in the hobby TX market. EDIT: I mean, that's obviously Jumper implying that Radiomaster (sorry, RadioKING) took the T18, renamed it to a TX16S and added some goofy-shaped lights to it. The ground is for dead people. 30-Aug-2020, 04:17 PM I find it hard to believe this this was Jumper's doing. I don't see anything on the Jumper related Facebook pages either unless it's now been deleted. I did however find this https://www.ruten.com.tw/item/show?22033091188401 Unless you can read Chinese then you'll need to use Google Translate so you can read the details. Oh man, I just started my new RC radio company, "Jumpmaster" too!! 30-Aug-2020, 07:29 PM (30-Aug-2020, 04:17 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: I find it hard to believe this this was Jumper's doing. I went back through my chrome history to the "RadioKing RC" Facebook page (where I snapped the image above). Now it only shows this: The post on the Jumper T12/T16/T18 FB page (where I saw it shared), is still up with comments, but the share gives the same "content unavailable" message in the OP. (For those of you with FB, here's a permalink: https://www.facebook.com/groups/53051038...022090584/ ) 30-Aug-2020, 09:53 PM It's funny how a lot of the people in the Facebook comments didn't even get what was being discussed. More than half of them thought it was the Jumper T18, or a newer version of the T18 from Jumper themselves It seems they don't teach literacy at school like they used to LOL. 05-Sep-2020, 08:57 AM It must be for real - it's available for pre-order at Makerfire: https://shop.makerfire.com/products/radi...ging-radio 05-Sep-2020, 10:29 AM (05-Sep-2020, 08:57 AM)user0721 Wrote: It must be for real - it's available for pre-order at Makerfire: https://shop.makerfire.com/products/radi...ging-radio I see an interesting statement against the listing (below). I assume this means OpenTX and not the case or hardware design, because as far as I'm aware the latter isn't open source. Another thing of concern would be OpenTX support. I wonder what OpenTX target this controller is using. If it's not one for the RadioMaster or Jumper models then it means you are either reliant on "RadioKing" providing you with custom new versions of any OpenTX version, or the OpenTX developers providing official support for a cloned transmitter, and it would surprise me if they allowed that. Makerfire Wrote:Based on several open source remote contrllers used in the market, Radioking TX18S OpenTX radio learns from each other's strength, improves and optimizes them. Radioking TX18S radio is an 2.4Ghz radio based on OpenTX firmware with 4in1 multi-protovol RF moduel, it is compatible over 40 protocols in the market. It is a great choice for rc helicopter, multi-rotors, rc boat, rc car and fixed wings. 05-Sep-2020, 10:41 AM It's starting to appear on other vendor sites as well...
It will be interesting to see what develops 05-Sep-2020, 05:35 PM 05-Sep-2020, 07:02 PM Multirotor Guide have also posted an article on the RadioKing TX18S today which contains some additional images... http://www.multirotorguide.com/news/radi...the-radios 07-Sep-2020, 03:19 PM So it appears that "RadioKing" IS actually Jumper. There is more than one report that Jumper originally made a post announcing it that they are behind the RadioKing brand but that post has now been deleted. RadioMaster have apparently already initiated legal action which is supposedly a reason for the RadioKing RC Facebook page disappearing into thin air. |
