2.4G ExpressLRS Tx module for Jumper T-lite
#1
As a owner of Jumper T-lite I am excited about this announcement from HappyModel Tongue

http://www.happymodel.cn/index.php/2021/...or-t-lite/

Yes, it is HappyModel I hear QC issues, yet I will be jumping on this. All my micros can now go to the end of my local playground without losing signal.

Excited to see this too but I don't like the part where now they have another module bay design. Are HappyModel trying to lock us into their ecosystem Smile

And the connector is completely different.

They could have maintained the LITE module form factor and provided a connector for external power. It is not difficult to implement this in the PCB design.

Unless someone only wants to use their T-Lite for whoops on ExpressLRS.

I do not think most pilots with Crossfire or Ghost modules would like this.

I dont think external power is big deal.
ExpressLRS goes far even on 25mw.
Bump it up and it goes to infinity.
.

btw. Must be huge playground.
I used to regularly take FrSky and FlySky to 900m+, and nearly 2km with directional antenna.

i have a jumper t12 with the 915mhz happy model ELRS module and works like a charm, i run it @10mW and 50hz rate. very happy..with it
I only know that i know nothing

the reason the jumper t-lite needs an external powersource on crossfire is the current on higher poweroutput. does the elrs system increase the current the sameway crsf does? probably its a different poweroutput wehere the jumper t-lite struggles with powerdelivery on elrs.

+1 external powersource need isnt truly an issue, as long as its known

I guess HappyModel wanted to play safe and added power management. I was thinking even 100mW would be enough.

@romangpro not a huge playground. The SPI FrSky receiver on the AIO board struggles around 100m open space. It hardly does 30m with my house in-between. My hope is the flight controller with ExpressLRS might perform better. I am excited about the HappyModel 2.4GHz AIO board. I will be happy if I can fly around my house or the local playground.

Old old thread. Just wanted to update.

The Jumper TLite was clearly rushed to production.
- crazy burns your retina ON LED
- external module power issues
- stupid button placement.
- tight clicking gimbals
- why even bother with trim buttons.
- and the super tiny 1.3" screen. couldnt fit 1.8"??

But it works.

I use Jumper TLite with 900Mhz BetaFPV Nano ExpressLRS.

I only use stock 100mw. I left receiver in basement, and went for walk. Very disappointed with low RSSI.. but then I found out it calculated differently. 100m and dozen houses.. no failsafe. But turn radio 180'.. instant failsafe. ExpressLRS is not magic. Still need good antenna and LOS.

The QX7 with R9 running ExpressLRS I can select 10mw, 50mw.. etc.. up to ridiculous levels, I havent bothered to unlock.
Took long time to realize need ExpressLRS wasnt working because missing 1k 400kbps mod.

-------

Why not 2.4Ghz?
Unlese you have 6+ people flying together, 900Mhz has MUCH better penetration through walls and trees, that NO AMOUNT of power will match.

ExpressLRS is not magic. 2.4Ghz is still 2.4Ghz.
