TINYHAWK 2 FREESTYLE HELP!
#1
Question
I was flying my Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle and landed on a tiny water puddle. I instantly removed the batteries and waited 24 hours before I would see if I still worked to my surprise it didn't. When I plug in the batteries it gave me a odd flash 5 blue, 4 green, and 1 red flash 2x then it turns off. The board does get warm when i leave it on the batteries. I also tried USB but nothing lights up or gets recognized by my computer it does not get warm either. I tried both USB and batteries same flash, gets warm and turns off. Not sure what I fried on the board but, help would be best. Haven't yet checked on the voltage pads on the board but, that would be my next step.

Hate to say it.. I think u toasted ur fc.. i have several TH FCs with toasted ESCs and they still show up and “function” in betaflight..
Got good news and bad news..
Bad news, that fc is like $74 (2s capable and 200 mw vtx)...BUT for $50 u can use a TH-s fc, it is the same except the vtx...IF u can locate one.. and if ur soldering skills are good u can swap out the vtx..
That’s kinda good and bad news..
HOWEVER with the TH freestyle frame ur not TOTALLY locked into the Emax FC... u CAN mount a AIO whoop board to that frame.. just need to drill holes..
I am looking at multiple “alternate” FCs for tiny hawks (1s) at the moment.. but I fly my freestyle strictly on 2s..
My freestyle has been destroyed so many times I think the battery strap is the only original part..
I think getFPV or RDQ has the thII freestyle on sale, u may want to consider a new one and keep the other for parts (frame, motors, camera..) u will be replacing them at one point or another.. and this way it will be cheaper and u have the parts available

Doesn't fully tell me a way for a possible repair but, ill consider your option on replacing the board from the tinyhawk.

Hi FPVWIZARD,

If you fry the FC board, it is generally not repairable or certainly not cost effective even if you have the skills.

Replacing the FC board is pretty much the only viable option. Personally, I would make a simple adapter plate and use a standard 26x26 whoop mount AIO. If you use a VTX with the same 26x26 mount option, it will stack right on top. The THF uses short, 15mm, standoff columns, so you might need longer ones, like the standard 20mm ones.

The adapter plate could be made out of just about anything. I would likely use a piece of sturdy, flat, plastic. I use the flat side of the square bottles from alcohol, peroxide, MCT oil, etc. Everything comes in plastic and there is generally a flat side somewhere. As an added benefit, the plastic is an insulator and doesn't conduct current. Plus, plastic is easy to work with; use knife, scissors, hole punch, hand drill, pretty much anything.

I have the GEPRC Stable F4 toothpick stack in my Tiny-Black-85 whoop. I chose this one since it comes with a VTX and fits nicely together. Yeah, it might be a little pricey, but it does include the VTX and works well for me. I used an FrSky XM+ receiver in this build.

My Parts Guide <-- Click link to download) is a pretty good list of parts and provides a nice quick comparison.

If u check out “tinyhawk2 freestyle alternative fc” thread, you will see a “mount” I received that will allow u to use any 16x16 whoop aio to get ur tinyhawk back in the air. I would suggest going with seperate fc/rx/vtx, cost maybe just a bit more, but I have found separate components are more reliable and preform better...

if it powers up by the lipo but not by plug in the usb, you might fried a regulator. some are able to repair such things but the majority of us woudl go for a replacement.

i would go for another aio, alot ask about a replacement, seems they arent the best quality. they are expensive, i would stay away from emax aios.
personal i would also change the frane, doesnt go for an adapter.
