Tiny Toad - 3"

(06-Feb-2023, 01:18 PM)iFly4rotors Wrote: Hi Lukeman,

Very Good Job.   Thumbs Up

A little chamfer is a nice finishing touch especially for a production frame
or a frame being cut for others. It just makes the product feel more
professional.

On the other hand, if I was cutting a frame just for me, then I wouldn't
bother with it. Also, if I like a particular frame, the chamfering is nice,
but wouldn't deter me from acquiring it. As long as it works, it works
for me. Just me  Tongue

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I plan to start selling kits so I was looking to get a nice "Production Level" look and feel. I've got about 6 frames sold so far to some local guys. Might do a small run of 8 frames next and see if anyone is interested on the FB groups.

Ok so I've got a build guide for this frame. Offers some guidance when building the frame. Although it's a super simple build, it really doesn't need a build guide lol.

Any feeback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Lukeman,

Yes, chamfer for production or for sale to others; it just makes a better product
and lends credibility to you as a manufacturer.

What is the total weight of this frame including the hardware?

How do you plan to market your products?  Will you have a website or just sell
directly using your personal account for payment? How will you get paid and what
type of payments will you accept?

I am NOT on Facebook and don't have any of those social media accounts.
I don't Face, Twit, Twat, or Insta anything. I do, however, use PayPal.

That said, I am interested in your frame.

I'll weigh the frame kit when I get home today.

AUW of a typical build is around 120g before battery if you're using something like hdzero or walksnail. I'm sure analog setup would be lighter.

Not exactly sure how I want to market the frame. Social media is the easiest way but I'll probably make a YouTube video on my channel about it. I am planning on setting up a website within the next couple weeks and will have it listed there for purchase.

If you wanted to buy a frame kit sooner than later, I can take direct payment via PayPal. Price will be $25 plus shipping. Comes with all the hardware and standoffs and 3d printed parts.

Hi Lukeman,

I am not in a hurry since my FPV hobby has slowed down due to my
Real Life House building project. Plus, I prefer to wait until the website
set up and functional so that I may purchase from the website and
support the business.

Thank You.

iFly4Rotors,

I appreciate the future support! I'll keep you updated on the website.

Frame kit with screws, standoffs and tpu parts comes in at 44 grams.

Once you are actively selling on the website, that is when you will
need more business and building a reputation. Keep us posted.
I will likely be one of your first on-line customers.

Any chance of a smaller version? 1.6”, 2”, or 2.5”? Big Grin
That’s what I’m primarily flying and building these days.

Could easily scale it down! I'll start working on that this week. Might scale it up to a 3.5" as well.

Hi Lukeman,

I will still buy the frame, however, in my opinion, 44 grams is a bit on the heavy
side for a 3-inch frame. Since I focus on sub-250 gram quads, my absolute max
frame weight is 50 grams regardless of size.  I might be interested in the 3.5-inch
version if the weight is less than 50 grams. This is just my philosophy.

On the other hand, I guess a "Basher" quad needs a bit more in the frame to
withstand hard crashes.

You might want to take a look at the Frames-3 and Frames-4 tabs in my
Parts Guide <--- click to download.

Yeah one of the main reasons to make this frame was to withstand crashes when racing. Makes for a good practice rig as it just keeps flying lol. Weight is very similar to the Tiny Trainer so I can race it in the same class with my local race chapter.

I think a 3.5" version should be very easy to keep under 50 grams.

Alright guys, I got my website up and running. This is a new avenue for me, so I hope it's all setup correctly. Let me know what you think of the Tiny Toad product description and if there's anything I may have missed. Just want to make sure I come up with a standard description format that's easy to understand for this drone frame as well as future frames to come.

Your page loads- but if I try to click on something below the “products and services”, like “wood signs” or “carbon fiber milling”, nothing happens.

If’n I was looking for a custom wood sign or whatnot, I would expect clicking on that section to bring me to a page where I could tell you what I wanted that custom wood sign to say, maybe pick the font, and upload an image of my store logo. Smile

If I wanted to get some custom carbon fiber cut, I would expect it to take me to a page where I can upload a file with my email address to get a quote on the cost.

If I click my way through to the tiny toad, it works and is fairly intuitive.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I haven't spent too much time trying to work out how I want to offer the custom signs or carbon parts yet. Too many variables unfortunately. Might just have to do a different layout where it doesn't look like it's a product and only have customers use the contact form for inquiries.
