Throttle weirdness
#1
Been googling off and on for 2 days now about throttle issues in Betaflight, now I’m here for some help.

New build, 5” Dave-C mini long range. Flywoo Goku F722 stack, Beitian 180 GPS, Taranis X9D with current firmware, FrSky XM rx. (GPS disabled for these tests).

Betaflight, Flywoo F722 dual target flashed to board. Tx/Rx bound. ARM set up on toggle switch. DShot 600 selected so no ESC cal necessary(?).

On bench, when quad is armed, motors spin up to minimum. When throttle is raised to, say, 1/2 throttle motors initially spin up to 50% but then oscillate up and down. Throttle no longer has any effect even when dropped to zero, motors continue to spin. Eventually they slowly ramp down only to ramp back up even throttle is still at zero.

If I pick the quad up and tilt it through the axis’s the motors change speed as you would expect.

if this happens without props, it sounds like that, it should as it should without props.

yes, there is no need to calibrate the esc on dshot.

Ok, I’ve seen the video but just concerned about the motors not dropping to min when the throttle is cut. Time to throw some props on and see what happens.

Thanks

That sounds like serious problem.. and very atypical.

When armed, only PID loop controls motors - alters thrust.

Try "safe" mostly P, PID like P20 I5 D5. Arm Acro holding it (no props). Direction you slowly tilt.. those motors spin up. Should be slow smooth. Happens regardless of throttle. Do not try/do at 50%+. bad for motors. Do not jerk/shake it.
