So just wired this new hybrid split into my quad and having issues with what I think is due to the SD card. Basically processing board has solid blue light and osd says HD Preview but i can't operate mode button to start recording or enter QR setup mode. I first thought it was a faulty button but as soon as i remove sd card the mode button works again. I'm using the U3 version of the Samsung Evo 128gb which was formatted using the SD formatter program . I've also tried both the 1.1 3 original firmware and 1.1.5 and makes no difference.

Has anyone else experienced this and can suggest a fix before i buy a new card?

I have not had that specific issue but whenever I suspect an SD card related problem, I format the SD card using this:

Ok just to update in case anyone else has same issues. I just couldn't get the Samsung card to work in the DVR so instead replaced with a Sandisk Ultra U3 but only 32gb and it worked right away. However it kept just quitting recording mid-flight. I then formatted using the RC app via the QR code and so far so good.
