Huge thanks to Robbed for giving me the heads up on this!! Gal Kremer gave the Ronin Mk2 some airtime!! (starting at 1:03:00) https://youtu.be/MC7c4aL1a84?t=3780 I'd preface that I approached quite a few reviewers to see if they would review the Ronin Mk2. Only Gal and TweetFPV accepted. Now having been in a couple completely unrelated industries where I found myself needing to lean on the graciousness of others, I can tell you with a high degree of confidence that there's a LOT of talk of "helping out the little guy" and a *laughably* disproportionate amount of action. Not to mention the fact that these guys are two of the leading FPV reviewers they clearly are not want of products to review. So I think that speaks volumes about their integrity to even give me the time of day. Addicted :) Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 LOL ... hardly. It's people like you and others here who got me to the Mk2 which in turn gave me enough confidence to even approach reviewers like Gal. *Thank you!* Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 15-Jan-2022, 07:36 PM (This post was last modified: 15-Jan-2022, 07:37 PM by the.ronin.) Siiicckkk ... TweetFPV also let me see a early peak of his review video and ... well, I looked like this: Of course right on the eve of Chinese New Years, my dudes in China messed up my already FedExed order which is actually quite rare. So the last 12 hours was a little hectic and *heavy* on the email sparring and negotiations. In the end all got fixed and everyone loves each other again. Yay for small business lol. That is an EXCELLENT review. I viewed his review on YouTube in order to comment which I did. I saw that one, iFly ... thank you man!! (20-Jan-2022, 02:14 PM)hugnosed_bat Wrote: i miss one by oscar !? :-) I'm glad you asked that. I never asked Oscar for a review. The reason is that I wanted to see if my stuff could stand on its own two feet. I can tell you now after the fact that the answer to that question is ... barely lol. I approached *a lot* of people to review the Ronin Mk2. Only 2 accepted. In my defense though and given the traction my frames have gotten, I suspect at least some of that was the lack of any direct or indirect monetary incentives whether that be affiliate links or what not. I was kinda bummed about that but also not very surprised. Which is why my respect for TweetFPV and Gal Kremer went up a couple notches as they clearly are not cut from that cloth. And the "well they have daytime jobs" excuse doesn't cut it - many folks I approached were in the same position (and with far fewer subscribers) and were not so ... open minded, shall we say. I've beat that guy up man and it's still going. In fact I'm the beginning of my last visit I'm chasing a bird with my MK2 build. I put "FPV Pilot" in a little red box on a white shirt and called it the "Supreme tee" and it wouldn't even let me upload it lol. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 • Posts: 5,880 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,779 in 2,241 posts Likes Given: 7,652 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 So, since those are not models...are those people wearing the shirts your friends ?? I will share my secrets with you ... So basically, the "print on demand" (POD) service I am using for this is Teespring (which a lot of FPV people use). But it does not have this functionality where it can overlay your designs onto pre-fabbed pictures of models. Another POD called Printful does. However, Printful does not offer a storefront like Teespring and I don't want to integrate my own website into their service because it is a royal pain. So I am using Teespring to actually design, manufacture and sell the shirts. But I am using Printful to made these so called "mockups" which I then add some ronin-magic to get to the pictures I posted above. Here is what this mockup page looks like on Printful ... The tech has improved a lot. Before on earlier PODs like Cafe Press, it was a literal cut and paste of the image onto the prefab model picture. But now I notice it actually bends the image depending on the posture of the model. Man, I'd hate to be a model these days lol. With that said, I did launch my own surf brand in another life (before Covid decided to kill it). I contracted models and did the photo shoots. Frankly, they were some of the hardest working, scrappiest young people I met. They really left quite an impression on me. This was filmed on a DJI Mavic Air held in my hand LOL ... So yea ... I have a little bit of experience in shirts. |
