Replaced ESC, now Motor2 goes crazy
#1
Hi all, recently replaced a bad ESC on motor #2 on my Tweaker180.
ESCs are Lumenier 12A. Motors DYS 1806 2300KV. Flight controller is SPRF3 running BetaFlight 2.3.4

The motors start fine and the quad hovers. However after a very short flight it spins out of control. I recorded Blackbox data, it shows motor #2 going full throttle and motor #3 going down almost to idle.

What do you guys think? I'm having hard time figuring out the cause-effect here. Is it another ESC/motor gone bad? Is it the FC/gyro?

Well I figured it out - it was the motor, the same one on the bad ESC. This is not the first time this has happened - the esc takes the motor or the other way around but in my experience when one goes bad, chances are the other is not far behind. Just each time I am hoping fewer components have broken and I end up doing twice the work. Oh well, lesson learned, for good this time. New ESC and Motor #2 - it flies like a champ, flips and all.

so ESC built-in motors actually make sense Smile if ESC or motor is burnt, might as well replace both hehe

Ha, good point Oscar, that has been at-least my experience. It would have saved me some time for sure. Only problem is pairing them. There are so many makes of each and strong opinions what type of ESC works with what type of motor, KV, firmware etc. Thinking about it, having well tested pre-bundled pairs might actually help here too Smile
