Quad has a cough: Need HELP guys! SOLVED
#1
Hi guys, just built a new one. 155mm. Not my first build, I used to order preflash blheli ESCs, this time they are Littlebee from Rotorgeek. When I got the problem of fast rumbling I swap the FC, so problem is coming from ESCs or Motors, what's your tough about it ?

Thx

Sounds like motors to me, like one or 2 of the bearings are dry.

Thx. I have 2 other. I'll try to change them. Not obvious to pin point which is doing the rumble.

If it is a motor, you may be able to tell by lightly resting your finger on each one while they are running.  You may be able to "feel" the one that is chattering......

Don't think it's motor. I desoldered escs, resoldered proper wire to flash them. Noticed that 2 were on 13ish and 2 other were with 14.6. I Flashed them at 14.6 latest blheli with same settings. Resolder escs back to quad. Still there, even more present. So, maybe it's a too newest blheli with my old Naze32 rev5. I'll desolder, resolder proper wire to flash, flash all them back to 13ish... with basic settings, only with damped light at 3. Than resolder on quad, crossed figer you think ? I'm learning something each time, now I learn to always flash/configure escs before doing a tiny quad !

it's worth a shot.  Maybe a timing issue?  The best part is that you learn something as you go along! Smile

Excalty. When troubleshooting takes days, the motivation is the learning Smile

Notice that I had my rev6 instead of 5. lol
So I flashed all my ESCs via BLHeliSuite at 14.1. But problem persist.
When I'm testing throttle via Cleanflight motors are spinning correctly.
Check this guy, have the same problem. Its fix ? Change FC to rev5. Is there other alternative ? Pretty sure yes.

@ oyvinla: It's a DIY 155 frame that I cut for fun. CF is expensive in one sheet, so I used to use center plate + arms.
G10 top plate of 2mm. Cheap G10, scratch with nothing, but stronger than wood or plastic.

Tried 14.0, 14.1 and 14.4, nothing. Still there when DampedLight enabled. When no Dampedlight, low or medium, it's ok, but it's not oneshot... As I read, Rev6 has a MPU over sensitive at 6500. Boris said in a forum that tiny vibration to the Gyro will cause this fast rumble for the Yaw. Lot of place throughout the internet suggest simply to throw this fc to trash, or add Oring to attenuate the back tiny vibration noising the Yaw Gyro. My setup is too tiny, I'll wait for my Flip32 Rev5. Sadly... Or I'll try to fly without oneshot.

Have you tried flashing the FC with Betaflight 3.0? It would be interesting to see if the problem is still there. I'm thinking that Betaflight might be able to filter out some of the gyro noise if that is the problem. You can also run a blackbox log and have a look at it in the betaflight blackbox explorer to see how the gyro behaves. I'm sorry I can't help you with cleanflight.

That 155 frame looks quite cool, I really want to build something similar one day. Is there suppose to be a camera house or anything on top of it?

No, only LOS for this one. I miss doing more LOS since I started FPV this spring.

maybe I missed it, but I was trying to find what motors you are using, and what the kv is on them. it could be a motor timing or demag issue.
