But I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. QuadStyles brought this to my attention after one of his last flying sessions where i just enabled a pre-arm switch on his FS-i6. His battery was ejected in a crash. Quad and battery are fine. He had forgot to deactivate the pre-arm switch and after plugging the lipo back in, forgetting about the pre-arm switch he was able to fully arm the quad again with only the main arming switch. So order of events to repeat event. 1. Plug in, pre-arm, arm = motors idle 2. Disarm (main arming switch only) and unplug lipo 3. Plug lipo back in, wait for beeps, leaving pre-arm still activated, (no warnings or reset for flysky fs-i6 to remind him) 4. Arm switch now works without pre-arm! FC is a JB F4 AIO with Flysky X6B Rx running iBus. I will be able to see if it's the same with my Frsky when parts get here. But I don't know if it is a betaflight bug or in the FC maybe. My hunch is in BF. • Posts: 373 Threads: 29 Likes Received: 279 in 168 posts Likes Given: 242 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 6 I can test this as soon as I get a chance. All of my quads have pre-arm enabled and I use Frsky. I've never noticed this behavior before but I don't know if I've ever done that sequence. • Posts: 252 Threads: 42 Likes Received: 90 in 64 posts Likes Given: 184 Joined: Apr 2018 Reputation: 3 Could always switch one of the fsi6 switches out with a momentary switch that way it’s only every pre armed when you physically pop that switch • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 (27-Jun-2018, 05:37 PM)Jakefpv Wrote: Could always switch one of the fsi6 switches out with a momentary switch that way it’s only every pre armed when you physically pop that switch That would be a way to not have to worry about it Posts: 252 Threads: 42 Likes Received: 90 in 64 posts Likes Given: 184 Joined: Apr 2018 Reputation: 3 (28-Jun-2018, 01:30 AM)Drone0fPrey Wrote: That would be a way to not have to worry about it Might end up being more effort than it’s worth, however saw a video with a guy doing similar on an fsi6. With the firmware upgrade you could have much more potential. • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 (29-Jun-2018, 02:59 PM)Jakefpv Wrote: Might end up being more effort than it’s worth, however saw a video with a guy doing similar on an fsi6. Will try to remember if I can get out today. • Posts: 252 Threads: 42 Likes Received: 90 in 64 posts Likes Given: 184 Joined: Apr 2018 Reputation: 3 (29-Jun-2018, 03:35 PM)Drone0fPrey Wrote: http://intofpv.com/t-easy-flysky-fs-i6-1...el-upgrade I forgot to test this on my Frsky yesterday. Fsi6 with flit10 so different rx, shouldn’t matter though. When I went to plug lipo in with pre arm it wouldn’t arm without first flipping pre arm back. I’m on newest betaflight on fc and newest stable betaflight configuration on PC. Tested 3 times wouldn’t let me arm any of the three times. Either a bug in betaflight but needs to be specifically set up, an older version of bf and an issue that’s since been removed, or an issue with the rx possibly? Tried on my mantis 85 • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Did you first arm then disarm leaving pre arm still on. THEN unplug and plug back in • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Ok I just confirmed using my Frsky. Does this on the JB F4 and HGLRC F4. I am running BF 3.3 on all our FCs and use BF Config 10.2 • Posts: 373 Threads: 29 Likes Received: 279 in 168 posts Likes Given: 242 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 6 I had forgotten to try, too. I just tried one with a Lumenier AIO FC and it worked fine and didn't exhibit this problem. I'll try today on my OBF4 and Hobbywing FC. I plugged in, pre-armed then armed. Then I disarmed, unplugged and replugged leaving the pre-arm switch on. It would not arm until I reset the prearm switch.
