Option to receive analog and digital signals in DJI Goggle with external module
#1
I found online that DJI digital goggles can work with an analog module.

“You can also use DJI FPV Goggles V2 for analog via the AV input, all you need are just an analog receiver module and a module adapter to plug the receiver in.”

Consequently, I am considering selling my analog goggles to purchase either the DJI Goggles 2 or V2. Could you provide guidance on which module would best facilitate the reception of both digital HDZero and analog signals? Also, will my video delay increase if I add an extra module to the DJI goggles?

Only the DJI FPV Goggles V1 & V2 have support for an analog module. The new DJI Goggles 2 and DJI Goggles Integra so NOT have AV input capabilities so you cannot use an analog module on either of those two newer pairs of DJI goggles.

For the DJI FPV Goggles V1 or V2 you would need an adapter such as the BDI Digidapter (which mounts to the front of the goggles) or a URUAV Analog Receiver Adapter (which mounts to the side of the goggles). You will get slightly higher latency when using DJI FPV Goggles with an analog module compared to native analog goggles that are designed only for analog quads. It's not a huge increase but if you are sensitive to latency you will probably notice it compared to normal analog goggles.

As for an analog module, the two best modules currently on the market are either the ImmersionRC RapidFIRE or TBS Fusion modules. Those will both work with native analog goggles, HDZero Goggles, and DJI FPV Goggles V1 & V2.

Question: I'm a bit of a newbie, but I've got a mobeetle6 and DJI FPV drone combo(FPV drone, goggles v2, and the controller 2). I use the tx16s radio to fly the mobeetle6, line of site only tho. MAIN QUESTION: If I bought the bdi Digi adapter for the Googles v2, what module will connect the Google v2 to the mobeetle's vtx?

Feel free to explain to me like I know absolutely nothing about anything lol, but what determines if a module and a vtx will communicate with each other? I've been considering firmware, channel, band, etc etc etc and trying to get things to match up. Part of the problem is it seems like everything in fpv has multiple names and it's(for me) difficult to find material about something if I searching and scanning articles for the wrong name. Anyway lol. thanks for Reading, any advice is welcomed

To fly the Mobeetle6 (which contains an analog 400mW OPENVTX videos trasnmitter) with your DJI FPV Goggles V2 you will need an analog module in addition to a BDI Digidapter. The most commonly used analog modules are the ImmersionRC RapidFIRE, TBS Fusion, and Foxeer Wildfire, so take your pick. There are also cheaper alternatives such as the AKK Diversity RX which will still work just fine for flying whoops with.

I was actually confused about antennas. I have the mob 8 with the eachine adapter and I have no idea what antenna to buy for it, how can I find this out?

I assume you have the Eachine Pro58 analog VRX module.

It looks like the analog version of the Happymodel Mobula8 comes with a dipole antenna. I would just get some decent RHCP omni-directional antennas to go on the module. If you want you can make one of them a directional antenna but it's probably not strictly necessary if you aren't flying that quad out very far from yourself.

Reputable antenna brands to look for are TrueRC, VAS, Foxeer, Lumenier (which are made by TrueRC), ORT, and MenaceRC. Stay away from any generic / no-name branded antennas.

You can see what I'm running on mine in the photos near to the bottom of the post that is linked to below...
