Hey all,
as this is my first message on this board and this adventure is fairly new to me, my intention is to be as clear as possible for you guys, so please don't be upset when there are noob questions or expressions to this, as the journey of finding answers to my questions has only begun.
Soo, my FlySky Nirvana RC just came by from Amazon Germany and my main goal for this part is to get it running with the simulator "velocidrone".
The remote came with stock firmware v1.0.9 and needed an update. The instructions in the user manual from FlySky had been followed step by step and failed at downloading the firmware from their respective homepage.
at flysky-cn.com/nv14 you can find a link to a Dropbox containing the Firmware v2.0.0 beta3. Zadig was able to Update the Windows Installer, the OpenTX companion was able to flash the firmware, device manager shows two devices with different drivers (one is for serial output, one for SD card output), but one essential USB Mode is entirely missing: "joystick".
On youtube, my focus went to this video:
where the user decribes how he got it running and gave me the first clue to my issues, because velocidrone cannot recognize the device...
while searching the web, another firmware has been found, dated back from October 2018, named version 2.0.0
FW flashed, USB Mode "Joystick" available, and when connecting the nirvana with the laptop (windows 10 x64), the OS instantly started installing a driver for using this device as "gamepad". HOOOORAY!
so, that was the work of one sunday yesterday and an issue remains: when now connecting the rc to the laptop, again, there are just two devices recognized, but no gamepad functionality available. I cannot find the option to install the gamepad driver or to activate it somehow...
It seems the FW shows issues regarding that aspect of the rc, so I was wondering if anyone out there has an OpenTX firmware available which is kinda stable and working. any FW will be tested, as this is the first majoer step for me to hurdle the entry stage to drone racing and having raced a bit in velocidrone with the nirvana was fun as freak...
my next steps will be to flash the beta3 fw and then the v2.0.0 firmware again to get it rolling. if that doesn't do the trick, I'm runned out of solutions...
Link to my RC: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07FS6Y...UTF8&psc=1
It puzzles me, that the remote comes with an unfinished firmware, on the other hand the drive to fix that stuff got me hooked, and maybe with collective help this will be an issue of the past.
From the southern part of germany, my best wishes and happy flying to all users reading this! I hope to be part of this community rather sooner than later with the nirvana grapped by my hands...
best regards!
