The Kakute F7 FC has metal rings around the mounting holes. Use a multimeter to check that those aren't connected to anything on the board, and if they are then that they're only connected to the ground plane on the FC and not something else. If they are connected to something other than the ground plane then you are going to need to insulate the holes from the metal screws in some way. Hopefully they are just reinforcement rings and nothing more. Unfortunately I don't have one of the same FC's so I can't check for you. Rings on the mount holes are connected to each other and to every ground pad. I will use plastic standoffs so that is not a problem I guess... btw I decided for TBS unify pro32 VTX and Foxxer predator v4 mini/standard version... i will place order for them soon so I can start building • Posts: 21,195 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,935 in 6,610 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 I didn't see you around over the last week or so, so if you missed the following thread then I suggest you have a read of it so you are aware, because the issue may also affect you... https://intofpv.com/t-warning-holybro-te...ware-issue • Posts: 156 Threads: 28 Likes Received: 34 in 21 posts Likes Given: 153 Joined: Sep 2019 Reputation: 1 :O god damn, so I'm safe if I'm using 4S setup? • Posts: 21,195 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,935 in 6,610 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 10-Aug-2020, 03:20 PM (This post was last modified: 10-Aug-2020, 03:23 PM by SnowLeopardFPV.) Then thoroughly test over an empty field where you can easily retrieve the quad if it flips out and crashes. • Posts: 156 Threads: 28 Likes Received: 34 in 21 posts Likes Given: 153 Joined: Sep 2019 Reputation: 1 damn xD when you paying for the best but it's not really :'( • Posts: 21,195 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,935 in 6,610 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 Yes, I'm not particularly impressed either after having spent so much money on what I considered to be one of the best 4in1 ESCs out there. And I'm going to be running mine on 6S too, so that means even more of a risk. It almost makes me wish that I'd got one of the cheaper Mamba F60 Pro ESCs instead that doesn't make use of an F3 MCU. I just hope the BLHeli32 developers can come up with a workable solution. • Posts: 156 Threads: 28 Likes Received: 34 in 21 posts Likes Given: 153 Joined: Sep 2019 Reputation: 1 I hope so :S thank you for info • Posts: 21,195 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,935 in 6,610 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 FYI, it looks like we might possibly be OK with the latest version of the Metal ESC we both have. See the following post and anything below it... https://github.com/bitdump/BLHeli/issues...-672737092 Posts: 156 Threads: 28 Likes Received: 34 in 21 posts Likes Given: 153 Joined: Sep 2019 Reputation: 1 Thank you Snow you are awesome • Posts: 21,195 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,935 in 6,610 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 You probably already found the response to me from ChrisRosser ( HERE), but it looks like we should be OK as long as we install the 32.7.2 test version of the BLHeli32 firmware. Chris has confirmed that seems to fix all the issues on the Holybro ESC boards which have the separate daughterboard containing the control circuit like on the board we both have. I will obviously still be doing my maiden flights over an empty field to start with (once it's built) until I build up some confidence that there are definitely no remaining issues. While you are waiting for your parts, the following video by Drone Mesh which was published earlier today should make you feel a bit better about having spent $75 on an ESC • Posts: 156 Threads: 28 Likes Received: 34 in 21 posts Likes Given: 153 Joined: Sep 2019 Reputation: 1 that's what I hoped for when i was buying that ESC how is your new build progressing? when is the maiden flight? • Posts: 21,195 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,935 in 6,610 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 (14-Aug-2020, 08:55 AM)ssaakkaa Wrote: how is your new build progressing? when is the maiden flight? Banggood are messing me around with one of my orders so I have no idea when it will even be dispatched. Every day I check the status it says expected shipping in 2 days time. Then the next day the expected shipping date has moved on by another day, so for the last month the expected shipping date has always been today + 2 days And when it does eventually ship (if it ever does) I will have another 2-3 weeks wait while it is in transit. At this rate, flying season will be over this year before I even manage to complete the build.
