My quad won't arm - plz help
#1
When I plug in my battery, the quad only beeps three times and it won't arm.

I'm getting these flags in betaflight CLI "NOGYRO RXLOSS BOOTGRACE CLI MSP"

I've spent so much time on this and I can't figure it out.

Please help!

I have a GEP-20A-F4 AIO

Also, BLHeli Config is telling me to power on my ESCs even when I have a battery in

The first 3 beeps are from the ESCs, the last two (the ones ur not getting) are the fc and the esc “talking” to each other .
If u are able to manipulate the modes with your controller in betaflight, but not getting activation without the usb connected… u may have a bad power regulator .. the usb is suppling the fc with 5v… check the 5v pads with a meter with a battery plugged in..
I am unfamiliar with that cli line..
Question.. was this quad fully operational at one point? Was there anything that occurred prior to it “not arming”?

Thx for the reply. I've done this for 2 weeks. Just got all the stuff haha

When I plug in a battery, I get the 3 beeps. When I plug it into usb, I get 0 beeps.

It was a fully functional BNF from banggood (GEPRC Rocket Plus). I noticed that the battery was cutting out when it would move certain directions, so I resoldered the battery leads to the board and the xt30 connector. Also resoldered the capacitor.

Amazon is dropping off a meter to me within 6 hours Smile

So when you connect via USB to Betaflight, does it detect the flight controller?

It does connect to the unit, yep. But it does so with no beeps when I plug it in

If its not beeping when you plugged in (with the LIPO connected) then the FC part of the AIO board is not communicating with the ESC part of the AIO board.

Looking at your previous posts it seems blheli is also not able to detect the ESC which depends on the FC passthrough function.

Did you update the firmware on the board?

No, I didn't do any updates

If this is a new BNF quad that has never flown out of the box then the AIO board is probably toast and you should contact the store for a replacement.

Can you see input from your controller in betaflight?.. is it “bound”?
Yeah, I have a feeling I have a bad fc voltage regulator from the factory…The reviews for the new wizard havnt been all that great…

It actually flew fine for about 2 weeks. Then the xt30 adapter was pulling off of one of the battery leads. I resoldered the leads/capacitor and it was like this when I plugged it in.

I got my multimeter this morning. It doesn't look like there is a short.

What else should I check?

So, I thought it was still bound because while my TX16s is turned on, whenever I plug in a battery or USB cable, the TX says "Telemetry recovered" and "Telemetry Lost" when I unplug

However, it doesn't look like betaflight recognizes when I move the sticks on the TX.

This sucks! Sad

(sorry to hear about your fc!)

When you connect the Flight Controller to BLHeli Suite or BLHeli Configurator, does it detect the ESCs?

Here is a download for BLHeli Suite: (the top 1)
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/dx6kfaa...LHeliSuite

Or you use use the BLHeli Configurator Browser Plugin:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detai...gocnjbcjnk

The browser plugin is a simplified version, and can be launched from a chrome based browser.

EDIT: sorry just saw you already tried using BLHeli Config.

Also, you could try plugging it in to betaflight and see if you can spin up the motors in the MOTORS tab (with props OFF) and a lipo connected to see if you get any movement from motors.

If this all happened after re-soldering the Batt leads then the problem probably occurred there. Could have been a short from solder or something. For the future I recommend a Smoke Stopper (https://www.racedayquads.com/products/vi...a657&_ss=r)
Any time you do any soldering on a flight controller or batt leads I ALWAYS use a smoke stopper the first time plugging in a lipo. It won't save you from all problems, but it helps save components from being damaged by a short.

Ok.. sounds like something needs to be “reset”..if u r getting “telemetry found/ telemetry lost”.. it is ESSENTIALLY bound yes.. BUT, it may not be taking to the correct parts..that just means the rx is talking to the controller not “translating to the fc”..plug in a battery.. check the fc 5v pads.. if u do not have power .. the regulator on the fc is gone..not getting the last 2 tones is also a indicator.. after that plug it into betaflight with battery (no props).. and go to the rx tab.. see if your controller moves the indicated areas (throttle, etc).. also try the “modes” tab.. see if the “arm” mode works, acro, etc…

I plug into betaflight, but cannot spin the motors. Even when a battery is plugged in. Also, at the top of the screen where it shows the battery, it remains at 0.00v.

I actually just had a vifly shortsaver 2 show up at my house about an hour ago haha
