Is there any info out there on building a Micro quad? While trying to build a 220 size version it would be nice to build one I could fly around in the house.

While trying to build a 220 size version it would be nice to build one I could fly around in the house. 03-Jan-2018, 04:44 PM There's some great build threads and advice in the micro section: http://intofpv.com/forum-brushless-micro-quad 03-Jan-2018, 06:21 PM Not all micro are suitable for the house. I would go 80mm or less and props guard for the house. 06-Jan-2018, 04:27 PM What sizes though, and brushless or brushed? 06-Jan-2018, 09:37 PM My family has limited me to 6mm or 7mm brushed motors and the frame has to be ducted if I am flying in the house. Brushless are strictly forbidden, even with no props on... I think I am being unfairly targeted by my house inhabitants, but there could be worse things! Seriously, after flying multiple open prop brushless craft, it is hard to imagine they would be fun in the house... SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Does anyone know the lifetime on the brushes motors? 07-Jan-2018, 01:05 AM Lifetime on brushed motors that are not pushed hard all the time would be about 5 to 10 hours I would guess. If they are abused, 3 to 4 hours and the performance will start to flag, eventually failing. SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Windless fields and smokeless builds 08-Jan-2018, 07:28 PM Brushed motors work for around 100 flights, then they might burn out. Or not. I don't know b/c I haven't had a micro for that long because I break them a lot. I would go for a tiny whoop or the Eachine E010s. If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT! My YouTube FPV Channel 08-Jan-2018, 08:47 PM The KingKong tiny7 is great fun, fast enough to be fun outdoors too. Cheap replaceable motors ($1.50 each from myRCmart.com) plus you can get a pack with 5 batteries & loads of spares, and the chassis can take a beating (see the 2nd 2 links).
