Planning stage, have some of the core components right now.  This will be an INAV build with medium range in mind when planning.  Should be able to get the lightweight 3S-1100HV packs should be good for over 10 minutes of flight...plan on using LiION batteries.

If you go to the bottom of the product page there's a link to a build log where I break down all the weight components. For sub-250 you gotta be super anal about the weight so hopefully that will help out.

I'm also curious what your thoughts will be on the GOKU 16x16 stack. I am a huge fan of the F7 AIO.

[edit] The kit comes with the "Seppuku lipo strap" that should be good for your 3S (16mmx180mm).

My thoughts are a starlight camera and I will just fly it at night when no-one is the wiser...like a ninja!  Hmmmmmmmmm...that might be this builds name.

I have very high hopes regarding the Flywoo F7 stack.  The F4 stack in my Explorer has been flawless so far.  Want something a little bigger than a 13A ESC and the Goku 35A is like ultra light!  I am likely going to surpass the 250 gram mark with our current components available, but I am ok with that with this build.  I can hunt for weight shavings as we traverse the next couple of years.

Was thinking of actually using the Diversity receiver instead of the Nano.

Yes, it will be a lightweight build. Expect for the two (2) seven inch builds which I have started, everything going forward will be sub 250 gram builds. For me, it is just the way to go. I am leaning toward light and stealthy...Keep it light, keep it quiet, fly it high, and fly it like you stole it.

I have to admit, I have been overtly impressed with the low noise performance of the Explorer so far.  The 4" props do seem to generate nice power and with the bi-blade props I have been using...it is the quietest quad in my collection.  The Leaf gets close, but is still notably louder.  At 50 meters I can barely discern their sound over background ambient here and by 75, the 4" is essentially muted below threshold.

I am really looking forward to seeing if there is any real differences between the 2750kv and 3850kv motors in terms of performance.

The RX antenna mount will be vertical for The Ninja

That does appear to offer more consistent connection in my testing of my Crossfire setups.  The Leaf and Japalura have vertical antenna mounting with stock (non-T style) antennas and when flying at 10mw locked, I can keep 150mhz for about 99% of my flight area which is a 250m circle from my front porch cozy.  The explorer will do this mostly, but I see it drop as the craft changes orientation and I believe it is the ends of the antenna becoming shadowed.  Nothing that would cause alarms, totally still in control but I see it drop to 50mhz in a lot of my flight area.  I suppose I could install a diversity RX and then I can have one of each like on Seven...but that adds weight.

I am pretty sure that my build is going to exceed 250g AUW in an unrefined state.

It will be interesting to compare our builds. I have found a Flywoo GOKU GN745 AIO whoop FC {brand new} so I think I will use it.

So far, I don't have a nice "private" or secluded place to fly...I always have to be aware of the people "factor". The park is becoming really over populated lately. The beach is the most likely long range location, but again, there always seems to be people. Given the presence or possibility of people being around and the fact that these are both residential locations, I want to be as "hidden" as possible.

I think you guys are going to be psyched by how quiet this thing is using 14XXs with 4" props compared to 22XXs with 5". Especially if you go bi-blades.

biblades are loud, gemfan 4023 triblades are much quieter :-)

I keep hearing that more blades is more quieter. But I actually think its the opposite lol. Maybe my ears are messed up lol.

more blades = more quiet
higher pitch is louder too as i know or believe.

the lightweight 4inches are very quiet anyway because of their weight and rotorsize, they are still silent on biblades in comparison to other kind of quads :-) but a triblade brings it to another level about stealth-ninja :-)

do a direct comparison :-)

From the research regarding more blades more quiet; that appears to be the case. One video that I watched, they tester used the same quad {actually a standard 5 inch rig}; and tested the standard 5 inch bi-blades, 3 inch octo-blades, 3 inch penta-blade (5) props. Same quad, same day, switched props in the field...result...more blades more quieter. Even on this craft, you could barely hear the 8-blade props especially compared to the standard 5 inch bi-blades that he used. 

From my personal testing, the tri-blade props tended to be a little bit quieter during close up hover tests. Here's the thing. In the field, you can hardly hear any of my quads from about 50-60 meters out. So, when I fly at altitude {300-400 feet} they are ALL virtually silent.

Ok that's likely it.  I do plan at some point to build another Ronin but with biblades ... but not for noise because the blue motors match the blue bi-blade props I have really well lol.  Science!!
