Jumper T Pro and ELRS, needs to rebind after each power on
#1
I bought a quad and a Jumper T Pro with Internal ELRS, and downloaded the lua script https://github.com/ExpressLRS/ExpressLRS...a?raw=true and used to bind my ELRS RX to my jumper. However, every time I power the quad again, I have to rebind, even though the ELRS receiver is all green (no blinking) as if it were bound. I tried binding again in the jumper without the RX being into bind mode, but it wouldn't work.

Did I do something wrong?

What ELRS firmware version are you running?

Did you try updating the RX and TX with the latest ELRS firmware?

Flash either 2.5.1 or 3.0.0-RC2. Flash both the TX and RX with the same binding phrase and you won't have to worry about binding. Full flashing guides on the ELRS website: https://www.expresslrs.org/2.0/quick-sta...g-started/

I flashed 2.5.1 on both the TX and RX and now I don't need to do anything on the TX, but I have to power the quad 3 times until it gets into bind mode, then it immediately binds automatically because it has the same phrase. I think it should bind on the first power on, right? When I first power on, it is solid green, indicating that it is bound, but it's not, I see on betaflight that no valid signal for receiver is found.

By the way, what is the button in the RX for?

Maybe an issue with the receiver?

On mine when I power up the drone, it binds instantly to the radio. First time. You might want to take a look at the wiring on the FC, see if you can see any issues (bad joints, loose wires, etc). Since it does automatically bind eventually, it probably isn't an ELRS issue. Sounds more of a hardware issue, maybe a bad power wire, maybe a bad component on the receiver.

If you have flashed the receiver with a binding phrase, manual binding is disabled and the plug/unplug three times won't do anything. Did you flash both the TX and RX with a binding phrase?

With the TX powered off, what does the light on the receiver do?

The button does a few things: If held when you're powering on the receiver, it will put the receiver into bootloader mode. If pressed while the RX is powered on, it will activate WiFi mode. And in ELRSv3, a long press of the button while powered on will clear the memory and restore the default settings.

Just turn the transmiter BEFORE the receiver, if you turn on the quad before the radio it does take sometime(forever) to recognize the receiver
