Huh

Did you get these too??  I am loving them compared to the F40 Pros II's which I already thought were the best thing since meatballs.

Actually I've been on a bit of a motor binge lately.  T-motor to be specific.  Little teaser of what's to come ... Big Grin

Blackbird is an amazing pilot and I'm a fan.
He has switched to Apex recently and trying 6s.

I use the same F60 Pro IV 1950kv on my Apex/KISS.

Enjoy your T Motor binge. Smile

Honestly the f60s made me fall for 2207....and I have an older pair. I can only imagine how nuts the newer ones are.

And then there were two ... ROFL

Not a new frame.  I transplanted the T-Motor FT-5 into another Apex frame.  The FT-5 was giving me issues and I was growing tired of exploring new frames.  I decided to go back to the one frame that has just never failed me - whether that be an effortless but aggressive tune or surviving crash after crash without incident.  For the longest time, I never gave this frame a second thought because I figured it was a all hype.  In my experience at least, it is not.

Using mostly the exact same components - Holybro Kakuta F7 AIO, Holybro Atlatl HV, TBS Crossfire Nano, Spedix 40A Slim 32-bit ESCs.  The red one has F60 Pro IVs 1950KV while the black one has Blackbird V2s also 1950KV.  Both of these motors are also 2207's, yet I do feel a distinct difference but I have no idea why.  The red one has a Caddx Ratel Micro which I plan to change to a Foxeer Cat 2 Micro like in the black one.  Not that I don't like the Ratel - it has great image quality - but the Cat 2 allows me to push it out enough so the top corner edges of the frame is not in view like with the Ratel.  The Cat 2 image quality I'd also say is even better.

I was going to go with the coyote plastic but the beige TPU I had was just too different of a color and that annoyed me lol.  So I went with classic black instead.  Still have to tune but I'm going to guess that will be effortless as always with the Apex.

Thanks iFly. To you or anyone wondering what their next 5 inch ought to be, if you don't have one already - Apex hands down.

Hi Ronin,

Is that the ImpulseRC Apex or something else?  What vendor?  Got a link?

Even though I have a Katana 2 5 inch frame and a Brotherhobby Hyperbola 5 inch frame, I am always interested in a decent frame.

Yeah, I intend to build a "brother" for the Katana-LR5x that I lost. I just happen to have all the components including a Katana 2 5 inch frame kit and a full set of the 2203 motors. I sure am glad that I went ahead and bought 4 spares instead of 1 or 2.

I plan to build a lightweight 5 inch with the Hyperbola frame; maybe use the spare set of Brotherhobby 1504.5 motors on that one.

You have some really SWEET quads.  Cool  I like your builds, the logs, the videos, and all of the information that you share  Thumbs Up  High Five

Yes iFly that is it. It comes in a normal and DJI HD version where the DJI one I think has a fatter tail to accommodate the air unit. It also comes in 3 platic parts colors black, red, and coyote brown. Note these are legit injected molded plastic not crappy 3d printed stuff. They do make a clone one you can get from Amazon but I would avoid that since the whole point is ImpulseRC's secret sauce on this frame. And by that I mean it is rock solid when run through blackobox gyro_scaled - not just by physically trying to bend the arms like you see in review videos lol. So many frames "feel" solid but then you take them to blackbox and you see they are hardly solid. The Apex is solid. This is gyro_scaled (before any noise filtering) ...

Thanks although I have whittled down my fleet quite a bit. I'm down to 2x Apex builds for freestyle and 2x Talon builds for racing. 1x 4" micro LR and 1x 7" LR. After all those builds I think this is my own personal perfect fleet lol.

Yes this is my next mission to follow the guide you made to see if I can see any difference in a properly tuned quad.

The Apex frame is an extremely solid frame. I can attest to that when I had a head on into a concrete block Smile
