How do I bind this quad?
#1
I'm trying to set up my BNF Rooster and am super confused about the binding process. I've watched a few tutorials and still quite confused. The button on the receiver is hidden tiny and hidden behind shrink wrap, so I can't even click it. Or am I looking at the wrong button? [Image: hiHMJVul.jpg][Image: 0u1TbKal.jpg]

EDIT:
I pressed down the button on the FC instead to see what it would do and I got a green light on the receiver, so I think its bound?[Image: Sa9rFaHl.jpg] Not sure if I did it correctly so i'm asking here, I don't want to f this thing up before it even gets in the air lol. Not sure why It worked with pressing the FC button and not the receiver button, anyone?

That button on the FC is the boot button and has nothing to do with receiver binding. Likewise, the green LED next to the USB port on the FC has nothing to do with the receiver. It is a status LED for the FC.

It is the LED colours on the receiver that matter. I see you have a blue LED lit up on it but it there should also either be a flashing red LED on it (not bound), or a constant green LED on it (bound and connected). Which of those two is it?

You need yo use that tiny button on the receiver to initiate binding. Try carefully poking a hole through the heatshrink just above the button with a pin. Heating the pin up so it actually melts a hole in the heat shrink will make it easier but be extra careful not to push a hot pin too far and end up melting the button!! Alternatively a small drill, but again be really careful you don't slip and drill into the button or the board.

I would use a plastic stick and press down on the shrink wrap. Usually there is some give in the shrink wrap that allows you just to press the button.

I don't know what I did but I think it worked. I couldve sworn I tried it with just the button on the FC... i'll show you a video and let me know if this is right, because it's in line with what you are saying should happen, The green light stays constant on the receiver the the Tx is on and goes back to flashing red when the Tx is off. I uploaded a video to show you what's going on.
