It sounds much worse than it actually is which is probably a feature of the camera's microphone. If you can post just the black box log I can have a proper look at it if you want. • Posts: 42 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 28 in 16 posts Likes Given: 19 Joined: Oct 2017 Reputation: 2 06-Nov-2017, 09:20 PM (06-Nov-2017, 07:07 AM)unseen Wrote: I can't really tell much from a video with overlaid black box traces but you have some minor oscillation on pitch and roll. Log, vid and PID setting. Hope you can help. Its a bit better now, but not quit right, i think • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Cool! There's a bit of oscillation on the roll axis when the throttle gets over 80% which you could possibly fix by adding a little more TPA. What does puzzle me is why you're running Betaflight 3.1.6. There's no reason why you shouldn't upgrade to 3.2. You might find that the default PIDs fly even better on 3.2 than your tune does on 3.1.6. • Posts: 42 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 28 in 16 posts Likes Given: 19 Joined: Oct 2017 Reputation: 2 (08-Nov-2017, 06:25 PM)unseen Wrote: The log from your tune looks pretty good to me. Secondly, it was preflashed with these setup. And i dont want to mess it up... Thats the main reason i joined this forum. I'm not well known with betaflight, as my other builds are KISS.FC / ESC They fly superb ! But with all the help from here, i could try to get it running on new flashed BF. Can i just flash 3.2 , and use CLI backup ? to restore all setting ? Or do i have to manually setup all settings ? ( Which i'm afraid off.. messed my first diatone up with it, so i replaced FC with KISS ). I will look into it though. And when i'm ready with it ill let you know. Third ( And last ) my own findings, / and questions. Like to hear, if im right about them * I hear oscilations when throttle up. so i should raise TPA... TPA rate ? or breakpoint ? ( 0.10 to 0.20 or 1650 to 1750 ) ? * When i throttle up, and close throttle, the quad knicks up and down. Maybe the I on Pitch too low ? As its allready at 65 with my first tuning settings. It was defenetly better, but it still knicks up and down. You can see it in the video. * Schould i lower the filter values a bit to reduce noise ? Gyro lowpass from 90 -> To 80 or 75 / And D_Lowpass from 100 to 90 ? I think P-values are right I Think I-vallue on Pitch is too low, ( But 65 is allready a bit high? ) I think D-Values ar better, ( They were too high on stock ) I really like to hear your opinion about that. Im learning from it. Posts: 42 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 28 in 16 posts Likes Given: 19 Joined: Oct 2017 Reputation: 2 Ok, i did the update.. I really like the turtle - flip feature. Just for that, i did the update,.. LOL I must wait for the 3.3 though , as i have the new spektrum spm4649T Telemetry satelite reciever, which would give me RSSI on OSD. I must update the reciever, which i allready did, but this article : RSSI on OSD with spektrum SPM4649T tels me that within Betaflight 3.3 i can get RSSI on OSD, Which now isn't possible. Just with telemetry on my DX6. ( My DX6 beeps , or talks if RSSI = under 24% ) Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 TPA works like this: So, you probably need to increase the TPA rate. As your settings are at the moment, you'll only get 10% reduction at full throttle. If you haven't watched any of Joshua Bardwell's excellent PID tuning and black box videos, you should. Here's a recent video where he tunes an Armattan Chameleon and one of the issues he addresses is the quad not remaining level when punching out and dropping the throttle. Have a read of these two parts of the Betaflight Wiki. First is an excellent tuning guide: https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...ning-Guide and secondly, detailed advice on how best to set up filtering: https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...mendations When upgrading from one major release to another, it's not safe to just dump the configuration from the CLI and then restore the entire dump. Sometimes, the names of settings and their default values can change between major releases and blindly restoring a dump can lead to problems. The best approach is to use the 'diff' command to just dump out what you have changed from the defaults. Then use that diff to guide you in setting up the new release from scratch. It's not hard and if you understand all the setup steps, you'll have a better understanding of Betaflight. The hardest of all is translating it to my language, but i find joshuas explaining it great. I have bf 3.2 setup and running. Going to testflight at the weekend. Thanks for all help. Good luck with your tuning! Hey Unseen, It has been a while... flying conditions are very bad here at this time of the year... Even today it was very windy, and wet. But i manage to get a day flying, and tuning. I have collected all in a zip again. I tried my best, and have latest BF now. Could you have a final look at this log ? Latest PID tuning I think a little less P on roll would be good. ( Or a little more D, but i think less P would be better ). For the rest, i think its ok. I have a little up and down, when throttle , but a bit more I on pitch should do the trick. Thanks in advance. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 It's a good job I have some proper fibre broadband here in Sweden. 1.14GB to download! I will try that next possible time first. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Sorry for the delay, I've been completely swamped the past week. I had a look at your black box log and I'd say your quad is very well tuned. I see no oscillations or any other strange behaviour. I can see how windy it was! |
