I am relatively new to the hobby, and therefore to this forum.
Now last week I was trying stuff out in Betaflight to improve my flight experience (ofc in combination with research).
While I was doing that, I (accidentally?) changed the PID loop frequency from 4khz to 8khz. Immediately after saving the change, I got kicked out of betaflight and I can no longer connect the flightcontroller (GEP-12A-F4 AIO) to betaflight anymore.
Tried to search for a solution online but couldn't find a similar case that came up with a solution.
So here I am, hoping someone can help me solve this dumb mistake of mine.
Cheerio,
J

If you'd like, post your model of FC and a pic of the wiring for us to look over as well.
EDIT: welcome to the forum!

Perhaps, but it was after changing the PID loop frequency that the FC kicked me out. So I figured that it must be related.
However, I was flying happily just a few minutes before I changed 'something' in the settings. So the wiring is not the problem (I think).
To give you more information, Betaflight does recognize my drone and sometimes I get through for a short time. Although I cannot make any changes as it doesn't respond anymore to the save and reboot button.
Most of the times I just get the message 'waiting for data....'.
I have a geprc P16 HD and I am not sure about the model of the FC.
Going to follow your advice and try the Boot method to see if I can reflash it!
Lets see!

20 … try another usb cable (make sure it is a data cable) place the quad on a stable flat surface.. plug it in, if betaflight recognizes / connects.. DONT TOUCH it!! See if u get full connection (all tabs working)… if so.. THEN manipulate the quad.. see if it responds correctly.. and if connection gets lost..

0 @matt0725: thanks for your help! I now have a working FC again.
This might help others in the future.
Putting the FC in boot/DFU mode and re-flashing it helped me to quickly lower the PID loop frequency and everything was back to normal.
I think what happened is that by increasing the PID loop frequency the CPU load was to high for the FC to process everything (>80%). Probably a result of all the settings of the FC and not only the PID loop frequency.
By lowering the frequency the CPU load is now <30-40% and everything is responding perfectly.
Cheers,
J

100 you might need to reflash the fc, bidirectional dshot on 8k could cause excessive cpu load to no function.
i had this on f3 targets with betaflight performance edition
