Happymodel X12 - VTX dead?
#1
Good morning. I have an HM X12 that suddenly seems to be stuck in pit mode or something similar. This is a 'working one minute, not the next' type of thing. I re-flashed both BF and Quicksilver and the result is the same. VTX set to R8, 400mw, no pit mode enabled. The signal is fine until it gets 10 feet away then drops almost instantly. I've checked my goggles with another quad, and used that same known working antenna on the problem quad. Same signal issue.

Can the VTXs on these FCs just quit?

Thanks

Yes, the vtx’s on AIO boards can fry on the bench fairly quickly without active cooling.

Hey thanks. I bet that was it. I always have a little fan blowing on these AIOs when working on them, but I remember a couple days ago realizing I plugged one in without the fan and it sat for about five mins. I checked it on the bench and everything seemed fine so I forgot about it. Mystery solved. Thanks.

I've got some HDZero stuff on order. Can I use this AIO along with the HDZero VTX you think? Seems like in BF it uses UART2 for VTX. What happens if I hook up the HDZero to the TX2 and RX2? Would the on-board VTX continue to cook?

Thanks
