Getting a new controller
#1
Hello,

So after a few years I decided to fix up my old quad or just make a new one since I've torn 2 motor mounts already and a esc also died.
One thing I plan is getting a new FC as the naze32 I currently have is outdated and underpowered it seems.

I am hoping for some recommendations (yes I've seen the recommendations post), specifically since I would like to keep my radio (Futaba 9CHP super with JETI duplex 2.4Ghz module). It works great and I'd rather avoid having to spend money on a new one if I can avoid it.
So I would need a FC that supports receiver inputs from separate channels since I don't think it has the 1 or 2 wire connection that are mainly shown on wiring diagrams or it's some proprietary crap if it has it.

There is a new ELRS module that is supposed to support. Your controller.. it isn’t cheap $100+ but if u want to keep the controller the ELRS RXs are very cheap .. this maybe a option for you

Did some reading up on ELRS and I don't believe it would work.

Only some Futaba radios support Crossfire protocol. I am not sure if there is a list of supported Futaba radios.

ELRS follows the support of TBS Crossfire to talk to the radio. I'm think OP is out of luck:

The Futaba 9CHP radio doesn't support the Crossfire protocol. It is too old unfortunately.

If you want to continue using the Futaba 9CHP and JETI duplex 2.4Ghz module with what I assume is a JETI receiver that you already have then it should be possible to do it with a PWM to SBUS converter so you can then connect it to a modern flight controller. Latency won't be great but it should work fine.

What receiver are you using?

A PWM to SBUS converter is what I am looking at now. I hope the latency won't be too bad. But it should suffice me for a bit.

I am currently using a Jeti Duplex R6 EPC receiver. I've talked to a shop and I could get a new
Rex series receiver which has sbus output but it'd cost me 70€ for the rx and another 30€ on the jeti-box programmer which is expensive.
There are also "ex" receivers which have a PPM signal ouput but the price is probably the same.
