I did get some motion sickness briefly after 2 months break. But aome practice on the SIM during the recent lock down helped.  Smile

Really like your style, with both smooth lines and precise snappy moves!

I can only dream to get close to your skills with my Apex 4" and I'm sure it's 90% stick time practice, but I've also been increasing my rates lately and I noticed some of the snappy sbang moves are only possible with high enough rates.

So I was wondering what rates you're flying with in your last video? And are you able to match those rates in the simulator? I love Liftoff but it only supports classic Betaflight rates, and there's no way to match my new Actual rates (120 center, 1080 max, 0.5 expo) - I have to choose between a soft center with a steep curve or a twitchy center with a flatter curve, both of which are not comparable to how my real kwad feels. Anyone else struggling with this?

Thanks. Appreciate that.  Stick and Sim time. You will improve leap and bounds with your intent and curiosity.

I wish I could fly more. Mainly doing SIM due to lock down here.

I went through different phase where I wanted to fly smooth like Le Drib when I first started so my rate  was around  660-700 . Then I  discovered  Europan pilots  like Blackbird, Fabian FpV, French FPV guys Farouk, Digi FPV etc so  I wanted to learn their snappy moves.  Can't do it at 650-700 so I  increased my rate significantly over time.

I did build a FalcoX 5" and I tried Blackbird rate and PID Settings ( with slight adjustment) on FalcoX.  Over a few months , I got used to the faster rate so I try to
to adjust my BF quad rate to mimick the feel.

My current Apex 4 BF Actual rate

Roll /Pitch Centre sensitivity is 380,  Max rate 1020, expo 0.68
Yaw - 340/850/0.60

I haven't experimented with this rate for a while now   and I think I could  decrease my expo some and may be  tweak the centre sensitivity.

As for the Sim,. I mainly use Liftoff and the BF setting is

Roll/Pitch  rate 2.15,  Super 0.30, Max 1237, Expo 0.6
         Yaw rate 2.06, Super 0.25, Max 780, Expo  0.66

( I can't remember exactly but I think I might have gotten that off YouTube from one of the Sbang pilot)
I use FaroukFpv quad in Liftoff.

With this Liftoff BF  setting, the transition to my 4-5" is not too drastic.

Hope that will help with your experiment.

Thank you for the detailed reply!

I'm surprised how high your center rates are, but it shows that mine were actually super low, while it's not really needed. I'm not going to increase mine too drastically, but if I settle for 180 instead of 120 it seems I can get a much better match now using the calculator (https://www.desmos.com/calculator/r5pkxlxhtb).

Tried them in Liftoff and it feels great, so I can't wait to try it out for real.

Good work. Hopefully the adjusted centre rate will give you the feel you are looking for.

My first 5" frame,  Reverb is an oldie but goodie.

Off with the TBS VTX/ Foxeer Camera and in goes the latest  Caddx Vista with Dji camera.  It's getting a new lease of life after the upgrade and i enjoyed a few packs after work today.

Only Dji Google DVR as I forgot to load an MicroSd card in the Session 5.  Tongue

Thanks Harry.

Looking  back at some old videos from 2019-2020, I seemed to spend more time up side down and moving  backwards these days. Big Grin Tongue
