3 01-Feb-2024, 08:05 PM (This post was last modified: 01-Feb-2024, 08:07 PM by husafreak.) I have a Flywoo GOKU GN 745 EVO yadda yadda yadda 40A AIO. It's great my quad flies terrific. But one thing has been bugging me. And after watching a bunch of videos it still is. The motors will only run outwards, props out.
Running this AIO with BLheli_32 ESC with Betaflight 4.4.3 DSHOT600 BiDirectional DSHOT. Why would the motors refuse to change direction when running the BF commands? Individually or all at once, normal or reversed selected, the motors always spin the same way, props out. I am happy they are all turning in a way that allows me to fly props out (BF reversed rotation) and I know I could use the BLheli configurator but all the tutorials say that I should be able to control the direction they turn in BF. Any ideas?

786 There is a bug in Betaflight 4.4.2 and 4.4.3 that prevents Betaflight Configurator from being able to reverse the motor directions, so you either have to revert to using BLHeliSuite32 for BLHeli_32 ESCs (or ESC Configurator for BLHeli_S ESCs). or you need to upgrade your FC to Betaflight 4.5 where the bug has been fixed, keeping in mind that 4.5 is still in the release candidate phase so is not officially released yet.

3 OK thank you. I saw an earlier post of yours stating that BF 4.4.2 had that bug but I did not know it carried over to 4.4.3. It is fine as it is but it is nice to know what is going on.

2 I have successfully reversed motors in BFC 10.9 and BF 4.4.2 onboard. If there is a bug, I have not encountered it. Yes, you have to do more than just change the "displayed" direction in the motors tab. You have to use the wizard to change each motor.
That said, I still prefer to use esc-configurator.com change the motors. Easier.
