Flysky fs-is6 Recieiver question
#1
I just ordered this radio and it has the ia6B receiver with it.  Was reading a build that I might try to mimic on https://fpvfrenzy.com/build-a-quadcopter/ and they stated to stay away from PPM and go with SBUS.  Will the Frsky XM+ Micro D16 SBUS receiver work with the Flysky fs-is6 or is there another SBUS receiver I can get to work with this radio?

FrSky and FlySky use different protocols, so you cannot  bind an Frsky RX with a FlySky TX.

This should be a good FlySky RX, if you want something cheaper and lighter try this.

Check out the FlySky Buyers Guide...

If I would go with the 8/18CH Mini Receiver With PPM iBus SBUS any idea on the range? It says no RSSI. This will be my first racing quad and build so hang in there with me. When building this I am going to use the guide at fpvfrenzy.com. On this guide there is a diagram of the F3 board. There is a section for PPM/SBUS with 3 point to solder. The receiver has four wires do I disregard the Yellow. And use Red as voltage, black ground, and white signal? Or do I use the Spektrum satellite reliever plug instead? Here is the link for the diagram. https://fpvfrenzy.com/wp-content/uploads...iagram.png Or am I getting way over my head here? With just starting would I notice a difference in SBUS and PPM and would it be better to just use the receiver that comes with the transmitter?

Stats say range for this RX is 300m+, realistically you will be pretty brave flying out this distance so early on, but don't let me stop you!

So yes disregard the yellow, in fact you can just cut it off the RX plug. You have a jumper on the FC that you will need to bridge, this configures the board to recognize either PPM or SBUS/iBUS, so just use the same solder pad for signal.

PPM is an older protocol, where iBUS is a newer digital protocol which will allow for up to 18 channels.

For this one it looks like there is no jumpers just directly connected.

Not a jumper on the RX, but on the Flight Controller. The FC needs these pads bridged to recognize the protocol that the RX is using...

See instructions at the top of the pic here - \/\/\/                      (the arrow is pointing to those tiny pads on the board -                                                                                        \/\/              where it says SBUS and PPM,  you need to put a blob of solder on the 2                                                                        \/                 pads where it says SBUS, make sure you don't get solder on the PPM pads)

I take it that this is the FC you are using from your link!?
