Welcome to the forum!

An f7 processor is always better than an f4, it just depends on if you need the improvements or not. I don't run inav personally, but id go take a look at their supported boards list first, as not all betaflight boards are supported, and then if you are looking for the most performance, pick an F7 version thats well known/easy for you to get.

As for specific brands or models to recommend, I use speedybee (on betaflight) and they make excellent f4 and f7 stacks and work on inav for 30x30 boards. There is one bug to mention; speedybee boards appear to not work with DSHOT, which to you mostly means you cant use turtle mode. otherwise everything else should be the same.

You don't say if you are are flying a wing or a quad but I suggest you look at one of the Matek FC's. Matek have worked quite closely with the INAV developers for a long time so Matek FC's usually just work under INAV without too many issues. Some of the other manufacturers FC's can be a bit of a gamble with INAV.

For a 3" quad I would look at the 20x20 F405-miniTE...

iNav , Arducopter, need MCU with more flash.

F411CEU6 512KB
F405RGT6 1024KB
F722RET6 512KB
F745VGH6 1024KB
H743VIH6 2MB - don't confuse for early H7 FC with different chip that had 256KB

If you are flying wing, you dont need much.
For quadcopter, 3 UART is ideal. Receiver, VTX, GPS.
*SOME* F411 you can "simulate" UART (ie Soft Serial), reusing motor pads or LED, etc.

Personally, I always get F405. Its not simple as F405 168Mhz vs F7 216Mhz. F7 is actually twice as fast. But F405 gets job done.
And F745 or H7 cost a lot more.
