ELRS on Jumper T12 Pro
#1
So I have a Jumper T12 Pro with a DIY 2.4 ELRS and a BetaFPV Lite Rx. I also acquired a Happy Model 2.4tx and JHMECU sp24s.

None of these will bind. They all have 3.2 ELRS flashed. I have tried every baudrate with everything from 50-250hz. I do not know what to do.

At one point I had it bound and in Betaflight the drone was spinning non stop. I disconnected it, left with my wife and when I came back I could no longer get it to bind.

Someone please help.

I have checked all the wiring on my fc to Rx, I have flashed edgetx 2.8 and have changed it to edgetx2.7.

did you change your binding phrase or not set it up the same on all of the hardware? I spent longer than i want to admit chasing a spelling mistake on my own hardware lol

On the subject of binding phrases, connect to the web interface of the ELRS receivers and the ELRS module over WiFi and check if there is a binding phrase set in there (and if so, check what it is) because if one is specified there it will take precedence and override any binding phrase you specify in the ExpressLRS Configurator, even if you flash firmware.

You can find more details about that issue (or "feature") in ExpressLRS GitHub issue #2121. EDIT: It looks like the code changes required to rectify this issue / feature have already been applied and are awaiting approval for merging them into the master branch (see PR #2149), so once that is done (maybe for the next 3.2.2 release of ExpressLRS or later), any values set in the ExpressLRS Configurator will then overwrite/refresh what might have previously been configured in the Web UI of the ELRS receiver / module.

So it might be best to re-flash everything and start from scratch?

Also I’ve noticed my TX has the inverted box checked off. Should this be inverted?

If you’re talking about the uart inverted in the firmware options for the tx module, it most likely should be selected. This is not the same as the inverted option for receivers.

From the ELRS website:

UART_INVERTED
This only works with ESP32 based TXes. Almost all handsets require UART_INVERTED on, such as the FrSky QX7, TBS Tango 2, and RadioMaster TX16S. For T8SG V2 or Deviation firmware turn this setting off.

I strongly suggest hopping onto the ELRS Discord:
https://discord.gg/dS6ReFY

I flashed and tested the tx module and rx I gave you- I don’t know if I saved the bin files, but if not, I can recompile them and email them to you.

What are the leds doing on the rx’s that don’t bind?
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

Thanks for the info. The Rx is blinking slow and then goes to the fast blink for Wi-Fi. I haven’t had much time to troubleshoot.

it has been bound! but now the drone spins non stop in betaflight -- i'm wondering if when i flashed edgetx to my jumper t12 it went into a "new" radio -- bc none of my drone settings copied over.

any suggestions?

I’d suggest making a brand new model on your transmitter from scratch.

Make sure that your channel mapping matches up- betaflight defaults to aetr. Don’t forget to set up your switches on the transmitter side.

Edit- what did you do to get it to bind?
Dangerous operations.

I went on webui and deleted any changes, kept the original settings. It’s bound now.

My current issue is on my radio I cannot get my arm switch to read. My two 2 position switches don’t read when I click them to set my arm switch. What’s causing this? I have tried every telemetry and wide and hybrid setting possible. All types of baudrate as well as Hz settings

Please help

Arm needs to be set up as aux1. When you created the model for ELRS in your transmitter and set up your switches, did you set whatever your arm switch is to aux1?
Dangerous operations.

Use the channel monitor page on your TX12 Pro to check if the any channel bars are moving when you flip those particular switches. If not then you need to map those switches to relevant channels in the INPUTS, MIXES, and OUTPUTS pages for the model. Until you do that Betaflight won't be receiving any signal values from those switches.

EDIT: Have a watch of Drainman's video below to find out how to do that...

Now my six/arm switch is working. But my sticks input won’t get corrected and beta flight does not read where the stick input is actually at

I have tried changing the AETR in betaflight and on the radio, I have tried multiple settings and none of which fix this. The drone in betaflight flips/rolls endlessly.
