Converting an analog quad to HDZero
#1
I have a used analog quad I just got through troubleshooting. Here are the specs:
https://rotorbuilds.com/build/30840

I also have an HDZero Freestyle VTX courtesy of forum member Audax(thanks again!)

I'm not thrilled with the caddx camera analog image on the quad, so I think I want to install this HD0 VTX and a new camera.
I'm pretty sure all I need is a new camera (maybe runcam micro V2), mipi cable, and some larger standoff screws(15mm instead of 10mm) along with rubber spacers to space the vtx and FC.
Seem right? Anything I'm not accounting for? I may buy the camera and screws from racedayquads and try to have this converted next week.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Sounds right plus being able to power it and the antenna mounting might need to be tweaked

Depending on the age of that Freestyle VTX, it may be 4S max or 6S, its writ in tiny lettering on the top if its 6S supply capable. I only mention in case you consider changing pack type. If the quad is as link spec, its only on 3S?

Best fed from the battery direct unless you are sure the FC battery connections/tracks can handle 1.5A. Even so, on 3S, as it needs 15W, towards a battery capacity end it'll be getting very close.

Also bear in mind a supply capacitor, spec as manual statement, is required.

Thanks.
I hadn't considered the antenna routing, hopefully the existing antenna can reach the new vtx, otherwise I'll move the antenna.
The quad seems to handle 2s-4s at a minimum and the VTX is labeled 2s-6s. I likely wouldn't fly more than 4s regardless.
The quad does have a capacitor from the battery power supply, I had intended to route all connections through the FC, maybe I should be considering running power from battery direct to VTX though.
