Cinematic Whoop
#1
I am orientating on a whoop. Ideally cinematic capable.
I see a lot of webshops are sold out on the nice whoops. Does anybody have any idea why?

To me it feels that we are waiting for a new batch of releases of new models.

Today I stumbled upon this tread https://intofpv.com/t-iflight-alpha-a85-...ula-camera

@the.ronin you claimed 75mm is the sweet spot on hd whoops carrying split style HD cams.
Can you explain please why?

That iFlight looks pretty sweet although it requires the DJI goggles.

I saw ummagawd his try on the GoPro conversion into naked and a couple of others. Ummagawd used the 85mm Beta85x frame.
If it was available I would have ordered that but it is nowhere available.

Anyone any suggestion?
thanks

The reason all the web shops are sold out is because of Chinese New Year followed by COVID-19. No-one was manufacturing or shipping items, then there was a massive backlog in manufacturing which they are all still trying to catch up on. Shipping is still an issue because some locations like Hong Kong and Singapore have been holding shipments due to COVID-19. There is also reduced cargo shipping availability because quite a lot of cargo goes on commercial passenger planes but there have been a distinct lack of commercial flights due to COVID-19. Things are starting to catch up but it will still take some time for web shops to re-stock.

Thanks for your explanation Snow!
That does make sense of course.
I don't expect the world to be normal already, but while most webshops don't mention anything like this it made me guess something else could be going on.

yes somthing else is going on, its a sign ;-)
buy a betafpv 85x whoop and add a deceased gopro, you will be able to get professional footage, much better than a splittype cam - just another nice option

I received the "Beta85X Whoop Quad for GoPro Hero" in the mail yesterday.
And it came with a lot of problems.
First and I think the troublemaker is that the top plate is too thin and not well designed.

It was already broken when I received it.

It is a 3d printed piece and being this thin it easily breaks.
Also the space between the FC and the top plate is very very small en even thou they putted a lot of cabling between the FC and that plate...

The first technical problem that arrived was that randomly RX loss problem popups so the quad failsafes every once 1 to 2 minutes.

Second problem is that the VTX which is correctly soldered as far my eye can see but the Betaflight configurator shows the device isn't ready...

While trying to gather some information about the problems I see the OSD doesn't show the actually RSSI dBmi value, While being connected and the battery plugged in with the radio on it shows the value in Betaflight configurator. It goes up and down between 90% and 75%.
