"cheapo" 3d printer - what is worth the money?

I have 2 printers.

My 1st was kossel delta and its great, I bought it for ~400 usd and its great machine. Need some tweeks and still have planned few more on it.. But time, time time.. Delta type of printers are great, but calibration is pain in the @#$%.

Second was Anet A8 in discount for ~140 usd and for this price its unbelivable great, but in default the print isn the gratest, but for this price? Worth every penny.

Both of them are slightly used almos every second day and working great.

So if you are technocal type, who like to improve hsi toys, go for it!

Hi Esy...  I've been looking at the Anet A8 for some time and lately it's been harder and harder to stop from hitting the buy-it-now button.  Based on your post I'm even more inclined to get one now. What one or two things do you wish it did better?

Thanks!
I'm trying to think but nothing happens.

Nowadays its better to buy her younger sister Anet A6. And buy some better rubber belts. Some precision extruder and you have great printer for fair price. And If you planning to print some advance fillaments, buy some mosfets to replace the stock ones Smile

But the Anet A8-M is cheaper that an A6. with dual colour printing. Definitely a no brainer.

How much more difficult is it to print 2 colos for a beginner? I will be in the market for an A8 soon as well, and I like the idea of printing in 2 colors.

OK, I finally broke down and ordered the Monoprice MP Select Mini 3D printer. Very basic but voted as the best in it's price range and gets great reviews for reliability and ease of use. I hope to share my thoughts once it arrives!

I really need to get a 3D printer but space is at a premium in the 2 metre square box room I use as an office / workshop, so looking forward to your thoughts on this one because it looks like it has a reasonably small footprint Smile I've not heard of it before though so I'll take a look at some online reviews.

Finally jumped in with the Creality Ender 3. Great machine for the price, ($195) tons of printable upgrades, and a lot of info across the web. Prints TPU like a charm with a couple printed upgrades.

Some of the items I have printed already. Incliding the desk caddy on left Big Grin
