Hello, I need help please. While I was flying the video started to lose its signal and the screen went black but the goggles are still on. I was able to access the menus, Playback of the DVR and other options such as the HDMI output, but whenever I use the receiver the screen is all black. I tried to connect the Goggles with and without the antennas, and instead of static I only see a black screen when the drone is off, with the drone on the screen remains black, but without OSD or anything that indicates that it is connected to the drone. Goggles turns on normally and I have access to all functions, but I don't see any static or signal from the drone, just a black screen. My Goggles is a Skyzone Cobra X with Stead View receiver. Did my receiver module die? This Goggles only has 1 week of use. Are you sure you are not on a different source? Do you have a second vtx or googles to try. I switched between the sources several times and they all seem to work correctly, except the receiver module. Without the antennas I should have statics in the same way, correct? Without the antennas I have the black screen all the time. With the antennas on, if I move them in some positions on the thread, I get some static but most of the time the screen is all black. Probably the problem is in the receiver module, correct? • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Mar 2020 Reputation: 0 (13-Mar-2021, 11:44 PM)johnnyknox69 Wrote: Yes, I'm at the right source. This sucks. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 11-Apr-2021, 01:59 AM (This post was last modified: 11-Apr-2021, 01:59 AM by kafie1980.) If your goggles are powering on and you can confirm your display is working such as you can see the on screen goggles menu and you are sure you are not in using a different input source, then the only thing you could possibly do is contact the vendor for a module replacement. The reason Skyzone’s were claimed to be competitive in pricing compared to Fatshark or Orqa is the included VRX module. I guess the module was built to a price point. • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2021 Reputation: 0 I fixed my black screen by installing a memory card and calibrating the rssi which is done by going o the rssi. Cal. In the settings. Use the wheel go to low and press and wait for 2 beeps turn on your vtx at the correct channel wheel to hi wait for 2 beeps and you are done. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (13-Mar-2021, 11:44 PM)johnnyknox69 Wrote: Yes, I'm at the right source. Do you have anything that works? • Posts: 11 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 6 in 4 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Feb 2020 Reputation: 1 Hi, It's worth checking your receiver module is plugged in properly. Mine came a bit loose in my backpack and went black. • Posts: 117 Threads: 18 Likes Received: 23 in 18 posts Likes Given: 4 Joined: Sep 2020 Reputation: 0 I have the Skyzone Sky04X which uses the same receiver. There were two weird events that I encountered: 1) Screen slowly fades darker and darker until black (no screen roll) but goggles are still on: fixed via firmware update on goggles 2) Screen randomly rolls horizontally and returns to normal throughout the flight: incompatibility with camera, use diversity mode as of now Hope that helps • Posts: 2 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: May 2022 Reputation: 0 @johnnyknox69 have you found what was a problem? I have a similar situation with my Skyzone Cobra X + Steadyview: screen is black, no signal from the receiver. But when I move the receiver a little from side to side, the picture appears. Unfortunately, this helps more and more rarely. I suppose, that problem is a bad contact, but I can not define yet where: in Cobra or in Steadyview. • Posts: 2 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: May 2022 Reputation: 0 Update for my previous post (and solution for my case): I opened my Cobra X and found out that 2 pins of comb, where the receiver should be connected, were not soldered well. In fact, pins were just lying on solder. I soldered these pins and now everything work like a charm. • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 0 (09-May-2022, 03:42 PM)hutoroff Wrote: Update for my previous post (and solution for my case): I opened my Cobra X and found out that 2 pins of comb, where the receiver should be connected, were not soldered well. Hi, I had the exact same issue being described in this thread and the same process as you fixed it, similarly the solders looked pretty bad so I just redid them all and instantly resolved the issue. Thought I'd sign up and share the following video as it's really helpful and he also mentions that he thinks those pins will be a likely point of failure.
