Skyzone steadyview receiver poor range.
#1
Hello
I bought skyzone cobra x V2 with steadyview receiver.
My range is very limited. By this I mean flying on the beach with closees house around 600m from me.
Flying in to the sea with vtx on 1200mw and around 1.2km massive breakouts. From around 900mw video start getting bad. Quad have TBS Triumph pro long range On receiver two 3.5 turn helical from o.r.t.
Any suggestions what could limit my range ?
Is this receiver soo bad ? I tried firmware 1.4 2.0 2.2.
For me they all are the same.
With my old fatshark scout on single 5 dbi antenna i could reach 2.5 km.
Send Email to skyzone twice but without any respond.
Tested on 3 different vtx.
Thanks for any suggestions ?

Without seeing DVR footage it’s a guess if there’s a problem.
How close are you to the ground effects distance range.
If video starts breaking up what happens if you go to 100-150 feet?

Is the problem happening on both Steadyview/Mix mode and Diversity?

With 800d goggles in my flying spot ground effect zone was around 850 meters from me.
If I go over 150 feet on 25 me I'm completely loosing video.
I tried mix and diversity and on both range is the same.
I ordered cheap uruav rx5808 evo receiver.
Hopefully will see some improvement.

I tested goggles with uruav rx5808 Evo and range and overall reception is definitely better than my skyzone steadyview receiver. My steadyview receiver is version 1.2 and I tested all firmwares and non off them came close to cheap uruav receiver. Look like something is wrong with it or first batches weren't perfect.
