Another FPV Flying Location Bites the Dust
#1
With my current flying locations slowly being taken over by property developers and filled with houses I decided to revisit one of the old places where I first started learning to transition from flying in ANGLE mode to RATE (ACRO) mode using Betaflight's Acro Trainer feature 4 years ago. This is also the place where I achieved my Pole Dancer badge (videos of that in another post HERE).

To my dismay I arrived to find that property developers had also moved in here too and the whole area was fenced off / secured with construction equipment present on site.

The last photo also shows that there is at least one "Armadillo" on site to deter trespassers and intruders. For anyone who doesn't know what these are, see another post HERE. I therefore decided not to risk flying in case I crashed my quad inside the secured / fenced off area, so I just ended up going back home disappointed.

It's another sad day for areas of nature / greenery and it seems that no publicly accessible places of beauty or nature are safe from the property development butchers anymore Sad

That’s a shame. Sad

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like one of those armadillos in the states.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

I've seen these around town either in shopping centers or sometimes side of the road. Can't imagine anyone is inside of them and usually they're parked for a few days and gone.

Or this one that has no impression it's manned:

Those towers look like an excellent pilot perch. Big Grin

I could use one while flying in the cold winter months.

Edit- apparently I can buy one here:
