1 My 4-in-1 ESC came with a capacitor pre soldered in, 35 volt 470uF, the problem is that it will not fit in my frame the way it is mounted and the leads are so short I cannot reuse it. I have some spare panasonic 35volt 1000uF capacitors. Can I use those or do I need to get a 470uF capacitor???

14 With caps you can go up in voltage and capacity but like a drone frame or a circuit board space can be at a premium. You've already got it and think it will fit so use it especially if it is a genuine Panasonic.
Regarding lead length, personally I would not try to have the metal leads of a cap be too long as they are very brittle and wouldn't trust them to excessive crashing. In that case I'd cut the solid wire legs mostly off and solder silicone wiring to them. Of course you want to keep that cap as close to the ESC as possible.

41 There is a video on Youtube somewhere with a guy testing caps on single esc's, on bat leads, on battery pads, etc and he said doing it the way Suros does was a better way than just having it on the pads. Also easier to place it somewhere convenient.
