Was on a thread about some 1205.5 motors, and it kinda went off from there, and I was comparing some 1103s with some 1202s on my 85s. One of the guys came across a really good sale at CycloneFPV on some HGLRC 1103s in 10,000kv & 8000kv for $3.99, and I grabbed six of the 10,000s for another 85 to see how that does compared to my 1103/11,000 Skystars 85 . . . and just because 85 Whoops are flippin awesome outside fliers. I went back to get another set while they were still on sale & they changed the sale to a ten pack @ $3.99 a motor, so I split the order with some 8000s I wanted to try on a 95, and compare that with my GEP 1202/8000s on a 95. $4 a motor, especially for HGLRC motors was too good to pass up.
I ended up putting the 95 together first, and seems like it's gonna be another awesome outside Whoop . . . unfortunately I'm running out of nice outside weather time pretty quick this time of year. I use the Beta 95 frames, and their "regular" 85 frames too, but those are the only two BetaFPV products I'll still buy. I used a 12amp Supra board I had on an 85 I took apart, an XM+, a RunCam switchable 200mW & a Foxeer Razer with a Lolli v2. The purple props I have on it now are HQ 2.5x3.5 tri-blades. Ended up @ 69 1/2 grams, so not too portly for a 95 Whoop . . . Got 7 minutes on an RDQ 650 3S, just flying around and seeing how it does. I'll feed it a few more batts tomorrow, actually suppose to be beautiful for a handful of days here, and looks like a great time to get in some outside air while it's still nice out. My 95 with the GEP 1202s gets great air time, even better than the 85s, which stay in the air better than the minutes=mAh I try to get outta my bigger Whoops.
The 95s are faster than the 85s, but are starting to lose that "Whoopish" feeling flying them around, where the 85s outside, handle like a 65 Whoopin through the house, and give that invincible feeling I get flying my Whoops and feeling like I can get away with any crazyash stunt I try and pull off. I've never had a problem with a 95 doing what I've tried, it's just I'm a bit more hesitant about trying stuff because of that different feel to them. They still are an awesome fun Whoop for playing outside, but I always seem to go back to the 85s before I wind up my playtime.
Red canopy, purple props is the HGLRC 1103/8000s 95.
Pink canopy, blue props is the GEP 1202/8000s 95.
