Hello it's since a while that i'm thinking to build a new drone, natural idea is been a 5" quad, I was a bit undecided if 4 or 6s expecially with the idea to fly also using a full size gopro for example without many issues of handling and voltage sag where you feel a lot the wheight. but exploring the TBS website i have find as frame the 6" version of this : https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/product:4996 so I thought it might be nice to build a 6 inch. Fc there is no difference between 5-6" quad, but what esc is required for a drone like that ? EMAX ECO II are engines i would like to try and i saw are available on TBS website, there is also the version for 6" drone, what would be ? so what would be harder find and more expensive are: esc;props ...of course i have to use a 6s battery and maybe in different mAh size if compared to a 6s battery for freestyle drone where uscually you use 1300mah. • Posts: 1,383 Threads: 119 Likes Received: 1,419 in 735 posts Likes Given: 1,095 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 41 I would go with motors that have a taller stator like 2207.5 or 2208 if you can find them. I have found 2306 too work but probably a bit small, especially for freestyle that needs a quick response from the motors. OK for cruising. A higher stator will prolly help with torque hence why I suggest 2207 or 2208 if you can find them. Also bigger motors change the mounting size on the base of the motor. • Posts: 6,107 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,283 in 1,830 posts Likes Given: 4,733 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 100 (01-Sep-2022, 01:35 AM)ph2t Wrote: I just found the 2306 ( I am using AXIS 2306 motors on my 6" badger) a little underpowered for freestyle. Take a light 330g 2207 5". Longer arms only add 20g. 1100-1300mah 6S 200g. 6" biblades. 550g auw. It will fly great. But if you put those 2207 on bulky heavy 6" frame, add full goPro, and 6" triblades.. motors will struggle and lag. Prop is too much load. Too much weight. You will need 2507 motor. • |
