Which Presets? 4.3.0
#1
I have 3 long range drones (see below) and I'm looking to upgrade to Betaflight 4.3.0. Two of them have 4.3.0 RC2 and one has 4.2.8.
I've never used a Betaflight preset before. Are there any presets I should be using? When I installed RC2 I just used default values and then configured the Tx/Rx, OSD, Ports, etc., manually based on Youtube videos and some research.
I updated the GEPRC today from RC2 to the release version and just loaded all the settings I already had. I don't have enough experience to know if it should be flying better or not, so I thought maybe a preset would work well, but I'm not finding obvious presets, like 4" LR.

GEPRC Crocodile Baby 4" LR
Flywoo Explorer 4" LR
Rekon 6" LR
DJI V2 Goggles
TX16S

Milestone: Today I did my first back flips and rolls with the GEPRC. I thought it was going to be an adrenaline rush but it turned out to be very stable and controllable just like the simulator.

There are currently no out of the box 4” LR presets.

The 4” LR under 250g hype has kinda faded away for several reasons.

I will suggest you try stock Betaflight settings or a Cinewhoop preset as almost no one is using 4” for racing or freestyle but ratter more for efficiency and smoothness.

I always start with the factory default, out-of-the-box, settings regardless of the build or
size of the quad. So far, I am still running stock settings on everything that I have. Yep,
I have built quads from 2" to 5" and am now working on a 7 inch. I am curious to see
how the 7 inch does on the stock tune. I think that it will be fine.

I believe that there is a place for tuning; that place is only to fix or resolve some particular
issue or characteristic. If it flies fine, then leave it alone. If you discover a specific issue,
then work to tune out that characteristic.

Yeah, the "hype" about sub-250 gram 4" long range is just that...HYPE.
All of those 4" quads are only sub-250 gram with a LiPo that weighs less than
100 grams and that won't get you long range. For "Long Range", they strap on
a 200 gram 4S Li-Ion pack which definitely pushes the AUW weight over 250 grams.
So, you can't have both at the same time.  Like a teeter totter, you can't have both
ends up at the same time. If you truly want to stay below the 250 gram mark, then
a 4" quad will not get you long range...medium range, but not LONG range.
