Where to put LC filter for FPV |
12-Apr-2016, 12:19 AM Hello guys, where do I mount the LC filter to get the best result for my FPV gear and image quality? 12-Apr-2016, 12:19 AM Assuming that your video transmitter and camera share the same power source, you would connect the LC filter between the pdb and the fpv gear. I use 25v 470uf capacitor on the power for the camera and vtx rather than a single lc filter. if your camera uses different power than the video transmitter, and you only want to run 1 filter then put it between the pdb and the vtx. Its the dirty transmitted signal that produces most of the lines. 12-Apr-2016, 12:21 AM I prefer using LC filter before voltage regulators, so even if you have a 12V and 5V regulators, you can filter for both of them with one filter. However it's also fine putting LC fitler after voltage regulator, only means you can only filter one power source with this filter. 13-Apr-2016, 04:44 PM Hey Oscar, do you only use pololu's or something on your builds? I'm trying to understand how you would filter power before regulator if you used a pdb with regs. So you must only use a pololu huh? Any reason why you don't use a pdb with regs? I used to use this http://blog.oscarliang.net/3a-voltage-re...-rc-model/ For 12V And I got 5V from esc Bec But now with the commonly seen PDB you can get very good built in LC filter and clean 5V/12V from it.. Much easier solution ( such as the demon core) (14-Apr-2016, 01:55 PM)Oscar Wrote: I used to use this http://blog.oscarliang.net/3a-voltage-re...-rc-model/Oh yeah I love those! I just got my batch in, bought 5 for like 5 bucks. Rcmodelreviews did a piece on them where he hooked them to a scope, and the pololu$, and found the adjustable ones to be super clean power, much cleaner than the pololu. 21-May-2017, 04:49 PM Hi guys,Is it okay to install capacitor on each esc even if theres already a lc filter? 21-May-2017, 09:28 PM caps will always reduce amount of spikes that will hit your electronics, if you are not fighting for every gram of the build then go for each esc. if you are fighting ... check if the LC is killing all the noise.
