What is this BetaFPV "Pavo20 Pocket"?
#1
Came across this today, can't find a review of it, that is "Pavo20 Pockethttps://betafpv.com/products/pavo20-pocket I was just browsing slightly interested, thinking of something to put a 1S Walksnail VTX into --  then I noticed weird stuff

The Weird Stuff:
  • flight controller "Independent R&D FC"  this is not looking like a Betaflight controller  Poop WTF
  • Fixed Point Sensor : Optical Flowmeter and Barometer for Horizontal and vertical hold (Slightly interesting)
  • Motor size seems nice 11000Kv where the standard Pavo20 is 8500Kv -- 11000kv good for 2S   Thumbs Up

O.K. at this moment from what I am reading there is no way that I would go near this, but does anyone know anything about this one?

It looks like a similar FC to the one they developed for their Aquila beginner drone. It integrates the baro and flow sensor for altitude and position hold. I guess for a beginner it might help so they don't have to worry about throttle, but from the Aquila reviews it doesn't look like it flies smoothly and don't see any reason why an experienced pilot would get it especially when they state M mode is not available. Also seems it is tuned specifically for the O3 weight, manual states it would not be able to maintain altitude without it. It does have a serial ELRS RX so you don't need a proprietary radio.
Also typically there are plenty reviews of BFpv new products, it seems they never even bothered to announce this nor are there any reviews... likely there are much better alternatives... maybe the Flylens85 if you are looking for 2S.

It's a noob product for noobs who have no clue, like that Aquilla drone and the Cetus drone that guy bought who had the long thread last year. Avoid at all costs. If it doesn't run mainstream firmware, then walk on by.
